I present the Wolf brigade!
Werewolf by Night (Jack Russell)
Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair)
Man Wolf (John Jameson)
Feral (Maria Callasantos)
Why? Cause werewolves are cool and a whole team of them would be even cooler! (not)
and I like werewolves.

Marvel Premiere #28 gave us The Legion Of Monsters. Seriously.
Man-Thing, Morbius, Ghost Rider, and Werewolf by Night.
I actually own this issue, because I have everything Ghost Rider has ever been in, and it is easily the WORST comic I have ever read. >shudder<

I didn't think it was that bad. Basically, it was a story that argued teams made of monsters will never work because they're more likely to kill the good guys than fight the bad guys (and that monsters don't play well with others).

Er, you know Feral is actually a cat person right? No were-transforming or anyting like that, let alone being a wolf or dog?
..of course maybe that's the point....

What, the Great Lakes Avengers and the Craptacular B-Sides aren't good enough for you?
Ah, the B-Sides. I loved that book, but it sold very, very poorly.

Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-man, Spider-woman, Luke Cage, the Sentry, and, of course, Wolverine. The New Avengers!

We´ve already seen the most ridiculous superteams in Marvel.
The Misfits: Toad, Frogman and Spider-kid
The Terrible Two: White Rabbit and the Walrus
The Legion of Losers: Grizzly, Gibbon, Spot and Kangaro II.

...yet I'm surprised that it took until the 8th reply for the smarmy NA haters to swing at the obvious softball lofted to them. Saw this one coming the second I read the thread title. Then again, who didn't. ;)

amusing except BK is anything but lame and if you knew anything about the charter you wouldn't have included him.
I agree on the rest though.
The original Champions (aka The Champions of Los Angeles):
Angel
Iceman
Black Widow
Hercules
Ghost Rider
Darkstar
The premise for this book did not make sense with The Defenders being published at the time. The Champions limped along until we saw the group break up in a flashback in Spectacular Spider-Man #17.

That was a strange team, the charaters are cool, just not together.

The Also-Rans!
These are the failed sidekicks/legacy characters of major heroes. I'm not talkin high class like War Machine, Thunderstrike or She-Hulk either!
Free Spirit (got similar super soldier serum as Cap. Followed him around for awhile)
Sharkskin (part of S.U.R.F., a team of teen Atlanteans)
Samurai Steel (Japanese Iron Man)
Dargo the Future Thor (Needs to be seen to be believed. Really)
Phantome (In the pages of Marvel Comics Presents, Lo! the She-Ghost Rider is born!)
Lynx (Also in MCP, chick Wolverine who can't talk and thinks Logan is her mate)
Ardina (female part of Silver Surfer's soul, I kid you not! Made her first and only appearance in The Order)
Kyllian (Celtic, tattooed apprentice to Dr. Strange in the mid 90's. Made his previous disciple, the goat headed Rintrah look cool by comparison)
They form to prove that they can be a valuable commercial commodity!
