Why hasn't Hulk gotton a ultimate book yet? I mean if they were to put someone like Millar or Peter David on it I can see this book not only selling well but being really good. Does anyone know any reason why he has yet to get one?

He probably hasn't gotten a book for two reasons: One, he was a big part of the Ultimates and two, the Marvel Ultimate line seems to expand into ongoing series very slowly. Remember how it started with only Ultimate Spider-Man and then added Ultimate X-Men later in the year. And the Ultimates came out in the year after that. Ultimate Fantastic Four only came out last year.

UFF came out in Dec. of 2003. So I think its okay now for the Hulk to come out.
Well, Joe has said that there's a Hulk event happening next year, so we can hope... :)

Another reason is that the Ultimate universe takes The Hulk very seriously...Whenever Banner Hulks out it has SIGNIFIGANT consequences...In the regular 616 universe if Banner transforms building get broken cars get smashed but there are no lasting effects outside the books and we never hear about the aforementioned buildings and cars again...in Ultimate, when he Hulks out people get killed and cities are destroyed...It's very real. I dont think those kind of consequences lend themselves to a monthly book. Think of it in these terms Ultimate Banner Hulking out is akin to a small nuclear bomb being dropped on wherever he is at. Its not pretty.

On second thought....

Smart ass, but that was funny. :D
the ultimate hulk is just vile, a rapist cannibal created by a coward. Rather than the 616 hulk, the product of a man who saved his friend's life.

PAD's Tempus Fugit in regular Hulk originally started life as an Ultimate Hulk mini, apparently, but I recall him saying that it was difficult writing a book where the main character eats people.
And it's probably a fair point.

That's the only thing I don't like about the Hulk in the Ultimates is that he eats people. I think this is stuiped but others seem to think its a good idea like Millar.

Biggest thing I don't like about Ultimate Hulk is that they turned a hero from one universe into a villain. No other Ultimate character has had that happen to them.

I wouldn't say he's a villain, but he's not a hero either. Essentially he's not that far off from the 616 universe. Let's not forget that the Ultimates uese him as a tool agaist the aliens in the original Ultimates series. If it wasn't for him they might of lost that battle. Wouldn't that put him on the hero side of things (yes a very gray area)?
This is very similar to how the Avengers and Defenders in 616 U used to use him, get him pissed off and coax him into fighting the enemy.
In my opinion, there isn't really much difference.

There is a difference. In the 616 universe Hulk wouldn't go around killing people and eating them like this one does.

This is very true, but that's what I like about this take on him. There is a much more realistic outcome in the UU then 616. What do you think would happen if you released the most physically powerful being on the planet out into a populated area (especially when the being is doing nothing more than acting on primal instinct)? Lots of people would be killed. Plain and simple.
It was always amazing how the Hulk (616) could fight in a downtown metropolis and not one civilian would loose their lives. Cars being thrown around, buildings falling over and sonic claps happening that would make most peoples heads explode.
Obviously this character is not everyones cup of tea, but I like the fact that this is a monster acting on pure instinct and doing the things that seem unthinkable.

Anyone who goes around killing and eating people is a villain no matter who they are. The 616 Hulk doesn't do that.

Then what do you consider the Hulk in 616 U? He certainly doesn't go around saving people on any sort of regular basis. He does things when he wants to and goes through whoever is in his way. He's selfish at best. That doesn't exactly sound like a "hero" to me.
So even in the 616 universe the Hulk isn't a hero either, he's in that big gray area of doing some good but just as much bad through destruction of virtually everything.

The Hulk is definatley not a villain - however he is not a comtempory hero. The UU Hulk is like is being said simply another take on the Hulk (there have been so many already in all his various incarnations). I think the UU Hulk is realistic and interesting to read.
