So I was reading my new Wizard mag. when I see an article celebrating Ultimate Marvel's fifth anniversary. So they pretty much give you a recap of what happened in each Ultimate title thus far and some of the of plans for the future. So I'm reading the Ult. Spidey one first when I see on the last paragraph "Spider-Man's new girlfriend is Kitty Pyrde, so there's to going be a big Deadpool/X-Men arc ...." What's going on?

Deadpool and the Reavers if I remember correctly...

Yeah, Deadpool is gonna be appearing sometime soon in Ultimate Spider-Man sometime soon. I don't think this necessarily guarantees a crossover with the X-Men though, it could be a completely new interpretation of Deadpool.

Most of the utimatizations are younger than their 616 counterparts. If Deadpool is a teenager, and that is a big if, I just don’t think the character is going to work.

Y'know, if this is how they do it, and no-one believes Wade in 616, then I could live with it.
How fitting would it be anyway? :D

That would be, just maybe, the most hilariously appropriate thing ever.

"No, seriously! And that Sinister guy, he was just some gansta' scientist with artificial powers! He pushed Xavier down the stairs! Apocalypse was a hastily-constructed mannequin! And the...*heh*...the Defenders...*phhhff*...the Defenders were...*heh hehehee*...they were just these lame-ass...*HAhaHAhaHAhaHAhaHA!*"

Deadpool's gotta be at least in his 20's for this to work, though the 616 crossover idea is also intriguing...

I am in total support of 616 Deadpool crossing over.. THE POSSIBILITES ARE ENDLESS. I'm pretty biased, I just want Deadpool in every title.

A younger DP in the Ulti-verse would surely work, I mean I don't know Bendis as a knock-em' out laughing type of writer, the way DP should be written, but if it brings in a respectable DP it==nto the universe, I'm all for ir....

I think an Ultimate DP and Spider Man duo would make for some great action and comedy...

It would depend on how they do as to how well it works. Technically, would this be the first time Deadpool and Spider-Man actually meet in a comic? I know they've deliberately avoided it before because of certain similarities between the two the characters (Though they did play the similarities off to great effect, back in Deadpool # 11, possibly the greatest comic of the modern age). Smart ass characters usually work better when played against more serious ones. Like with these common mathmatic formulas.

Funny guy x Less funny guy = humor
Funny guy x Funny guy = two guys who just seem obnoxious

Actually, Spidey and Deadpool met up once in Cable & Deadpool #23 or 24. It was pretty damn funny.

I had always hoped that they would do Ultimate Deadpool and Ultimate Bullseye as a team where one was mentoring the other, building to a mutual hate and mistrust that would make the characters more intersting with vendettas against each other that could be played out in a Spy vs. Spy manner. Just constantly blowing each other up, shooting each other, bullseye never misses and Deadpool has a healing factor, so it makes for decent comedy.

You know personally I saw Deadpool and Bullseye friendship/rivally as the villians version of how Spider-Man and Daredevil got on for they agree and disagree alot but Daredevil secretly thinks Spider-Man cracks him up while Bullseye thinks Deadpool is funny as well (I think he said that to Deadpool in that issue where the two were at Greece)

It be cool for an villian Deadpool to hang around Bullseye for a bit though, sure why not this is the Ultimate Universe after all.
