Ogdru Jahad changed....

Seems like the look of these guys have changed. They look more gragon like in the Island but in all other appearances they seem more Squidlike or Lovecraftean ??? Was this already discussed or is there a particula reason for the change ?

Mybe they have just evolved, like the Mustang, or the Camaro. Or maybe Mignola just wanted to draw them differently? All's I know is, that would be a rightous tattoo, the Jahad's limbs climing down your arm, and a city in destrucion around your four arm.

My thinking would be that it's sort of like Galactus; appearance sort of depends on perceiver. (How nerdy was that? CBR nerdy!) In the primal days, to the view of the Watchers, they were reptilian; viewed through a modern, human lens, they're more Lovecraftian.

Besides that, we never get a real good look at the modern Ogrdru Jahad anyway; I think the best one is in "Wake the Devil," where they do have a distinctly draconic cast to them. The cinematic Ogdru Jahad are another entity entirely.
