Ran across this. It's the first few pages of Moore's script to THE KILLING JOKE. Yowzas. The first page description goes on for about three pages, mostly because Moore is introducing the book to his artist, Brian Bolland. I've read a few Moore scripts in the past, and this one is fairly faithful to his usual style, right down to the annoying all-CAPS typing.

Could you imagine, as an artist, being handed this to draw? Holy crud.

I'll have to check this out... when I have a few hours. ;) I haven't gotten any of the absolute editions yet, so I've never REALLY taken a look at his scripts, but I'm pretty sure I know what to expect. That's insane tho...

He did a book at Avatar called "The Courtyard" which was 2 issues, and there's an edition of that which comes with the script. If you like scripts and such, keep on the lookout for that! :)

That would be kind of a special case though, because it was based on a prose story by Moore but then adapted to comics by Antony Johnston (with some input from Moore, I believe). I think that special hardcover edition has both the Moore story and the Johnston script. But it's not going to be an example of one of the legendary full-on original Moore scripts.

Avatar's published a bunch of other Moore stuff and I think there may be other script excerpts in there. I'm pretty sure "Yuggoth Cultures" had one.

You are correct, sir! Nice catch. Still was a great story. Now I know why the HC was like $25!

I've met a few artists who've worked with Moore at cons, and the standard response as to how they deal with his scripts almost always involves highlighting the major details and trying not to think about the rest.

I had this really good conversation with Yannick Pacquette, who's worked with both Moore and Grant Morrison, about dealing with their scripts. Unfortunately, it was at the Hyatt bar in San Diego, and alcohol has erased most of the details.

Anyone know if the spelling mistakes were Moore's or if they were typos made by whoever was typing it in to post?
