Caution: Highly Religious sensitivity within!
Just running it by the board to see if it's worth persuing or not.
Storyline: It's kind of a cross between Touched By An Angel and The Fugitive, except with a twist. It's pretty much common knowledge that everyone has a guardian angel, right? Right. But what happens when a Guardian falls in love with a human, specifically her own charge? That's pretty much what happens in the story I'm thinking of. Heaven itself is in an uproar, and they, well, try to put things "right," and try to mantain the status quo. The reason? The powers that be think that the union between human and Angel will produce a race of beings that will be one step closer to God. And this of course, the establishment won;t allow.
Enter the pair in question, whose names I have not yet decided on as the story is only in its ideation stages. They have been on their own since their early teens as their deeply pious families chucked them out. Sleeping in train stations, under bridges, in cardboard boxes and doing whetever they can to survive, all they want is a little space to call their own. End of story. BUT, it isn't goig to be that easy as everything from Vatican Knights to Seraphim get thrown their way in an effort to break them up[definitions of "break-up" vary, from simply causing discord between the two to all-out trying to kill them.] Of course, the forces of Hell want them for other more obvious reasons[soldiers who can literally walk into Heaven] and thus, the pair of them are stuck between a rock and a hard place, with the battlground being Earth.
The twist? Their past lives. The guy used to go by the name of Nudoru Karaage, and his Guardian Angel, Miso. :D Entities that were designed, engineered and created by an alien race which purged the Almighty from their own continuity. Designed, as in with the intention of destroying high-level dieties. Nudoru and Miso lost their lives defending their own continuum, and were thrust into ours at the end of a massive trans-continual war between worlds. Being reincarnated on Earth, neither of them had any memories of what they did before reincarnation, until they fell in love and things went South. However, in this lifetime the situation is quite the inverse; where Miso was once the out-of-control engine of mass destruction, she now has only a fraction of her old powers. SHe does keep her ten wings for posterity though. However, the guy is a problem; due to *insert ridiculous plot device technobabble here* one or two of his old powers are beginning to return, except that, in a human body, he doesn't have a prayer of controlling those abilities very well. No, he won't be a Tenchi. Although in his pre-reincarnation form, his Void Phase could very well have negated LHWs, in this life the most he will have are the bare necesseties to survive.
Essentially, they spend a lot of time running and hiding. It's a story based on their relationship and staying together against all odds, so there won't be much combat[if there is combat I'll keep it short, seeing as how the pair managed to do some pretty ridiculous things in their former lives] I want to do a human drama, and to give the audience a view of the modern world through the eyes of an entity that, in its previous existence, literally killed six very prominent omnipotents in one battle. That entity has since lost almost all of its power, and must make great realisations about the nature of relationships between humans. The guy will need to deal with not being able to provide for the person/entity/angel/whatever she is that he has come to love, as well as not being able to protect her.
Oh, and if you think they had it bad, the race of beings who originally created them have somehow broken into this Omniverse, and they want the pair back to restore them to their former glory, and turning them back into the DIrty Pair on crack will pretty much erase everyting they have. At some point they will need to choose: live in poverty with their only treasures being each other, or go back to the way things were and realize the almost ultimate power once again. Think they can have their cake and eat it too? I sure as hell don't think so.
I think it will be a pretty hard story to both write and draw as epmpasis will have to be made on small details, but it's just a thought at the moment. What do you guys reckon?
