Steven, in your column this week (9/14), you don't seem to mention WHAT the connection was last week (9/7). You said who the winner was, but you didn't say what the correct guess was. At least, I didn't see it and I don't think I missed it.
Please let us know.

You're right, and I apologize.
All the comics cited featured a character named Thor.

Same thing the week before.
And, as has become my habit, I will mention something interesting that I spotted which I'm reasonably sure is NOT the commonality.
I looked at the covers before I read the column, and fully expected you to say something about the last Presidential election, or a description of comics coloring, or both. The reason for this is that all the covers, intentionally or unintentionally, make use of reds and blues to achieve a more 3-D look (for those who are not aware, blues and other "cool colors" tend to recede into the background, and reds and other "warm colors" tend to pop out from the background).

...Is that right? Someone wanna second that? I've never heard that, but it makes a bit of sense.
I'm terrible with color theory precisely because I don't know stuff like that. What a great tip... Thanks!!

Looked to me like characters from other companies that were later to be published by DC-
Capt. Marvel, Capt. Atom, Wildcats, Ms. Tree, and I guess Stan Lee and John Byrne count as former Marvel characters....
