I just got home from an evening at The Drawing Club (http://www.thedrawingclub.com/). It was a special event; they aren't usually open on Tuesdays. Basically, it's a place to draw on Thursday nights and one Sunday a month. They have a model in costume and a set, appropriate music for the theme is playing in the background, and you draw for three hours. Costs $20. Bring your own materials.

Tonight's theme was "Gangster", as in the old-style gangster with the double-breasted suit and the panama hat and tommy gun. The guy was really expressive, so a lot of good drawings got done. I'm supposed to scan a couple of mine, so I'll post them here once I do that.

Meanwhile, I definitely intend to go back, probably about once a month. Any LA people interested in making a group thing of it?

What a cool idea. You should get Meyers involved in this.
