Happy Birthday, Jan!!
So are there actually North American doughnut shop styled "Danish pastries" in Denmark that are a ring of pastry with a gob of jam or lemon custard in the middle and are they called "Danish" or is that just redundant?
To reciprocate the birthday pastry favour, Canadian-style, I wish you a butter tart! ;)

Thanks a lot everyone - you guys are the best. :) :)
And boy - did I get some cake. I´m still recovering.
And Ruta - we have all sorts of cake in Denmark. But we don´t call it danish :D Most common is "Wiener-brød" = bread from Wienna (capital of Ostria)
Danish bakeries are selling white and dark bread, and cakes of all sorts. We even have cakes that are supposed to go with breakfast.
