Hello, this is Jeremy Aron Patterson, here with a thread that will appeal to all of you CLASSIC COMICS fans, because it involves a certain men's magazine's attempt to totally slaughter the sacred cows of the long-underwear crowd (One of them being the SILVER SURFER) by listing them as "The 30 Lamest SUPER-HEROES of ALL-TIME" (The BLUE BEETLE, GREEN LANTERN, The PHANTOM, SHE-HULK, WONDER WOMAN, GREEN ARROW, APACHE CHIEF, SUPERMAN, AQUAMAN, & ROBIN are also on the list!!!!!!!)

The list can be found online at this website:

www.maximonline.com/stupid_fun/articles/article_5276.html

I am very pissed off at the guys at MAXIM for calling the former herald of GALACTUS one of the Lamest SUPER-HEROES of ALL-TIME, & I believe that all of you CLASSIC COMICS fans feels the exact same way; & I have something to remedy this situation over at the ODDBALL COMICS message board that I will tell you more about tomorrow!!

So you better stay tuned;

J.A.P.

Don't sweat it, friend. In the universal pantheon of lameness, people who compile lists to fill space in the vacuous mainstream media rank higher than anyone in comics.

It's just a joke.

The point of the whole magazine is to make guys laugh. The entire magazine is a put-on. It reminds me of the National Lampoon sometimes.

I think the writer picked some of the best comic book characters he could think of and deliberately threw them under the bus just to be funny.

And this guy probably never saw the Kirby or Buscema SS. He probably only saw the 90s SS book which WAS kind of lame.

Why am I even posting this?

Caring about what Maxim thinks of comics, is like caring what Wizard thinks of everything else. And visa versa for that matter.

Great...

the noise pollution that has plagued Scott Shaw!'s wonderful Oddball thread, has decided to fester over here in the equally wonderful Classic Comics thread.

Considering how long Jeremy has been harping on this subject, it leads one to believe he is getting a kickback from Maxim everytime someone clicks on his links.

Sir Tim, you have my pity, for you can't do what I am about to do.

So you better stay tuned;

Not gonna happen Jeremy, you have just entered the ignore zone.

ATTENTION!!!! This is Scott Garlin Shaw!!!!! and I am here to be telling you, Aaron!!!!, AKA Sir Tim Drake!!!! that if you move this thread that should appeal to everyone who loves CLASSIC COMICS!!!! to the ODDBALL COMICS forum!!!!, I will personally and thoroughly shatter every bone in your skinny body with an abalone-tenderizing hammer!!!!

Stay tuned!!!! Tomorrow I will threaten you further!!!!!!

Enjoy!!!!

Scott Garlin Shaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.: (It occurs to me that most of Jeremy's posts read like the opening speech of alien invaders to the entire-planet-Earth-in-general in particularly bad sci-fi movies -- or in a "pre-hero" Marvel monster comic story entitled "I Met JAPPP THE CONQUEROR!!!!!, The Thing That Exclaimed!!!!!" -- SS!)

I wouldn't call the Silver Surfer lame, but he sure did a lot whining for such a powerful guy. He should dress like a goth, that silvery skin would make him look extra angsty in black.

What do you expect? The guy had no cojones. Silver skin and no bulge...I'd whine too.
