It looks like Ultimate DD is not going to happen soon, but let's play a game, how would you handle Ultimate Daredevil, what spin would put in the character, how would change the villains, supporting cast, etc.

I like him just the way he's being handled. It suits him, since I look at Ultimate DD as an urban myth. One you only hear about every so often, but when you do, it's meant to envoke emotion.

I have come up with this ideas for ultimate versions of Daredevil rogues, trying to reevamp some second string foes so Ultimate DD has a better rogues gallery than regular DD.

Ultimate Mr. Fear:

Alan Fagan's parents had always encourged him to be the best student in school, but he was always being bested by Matt Murdock. Instead of praising
Alan for his accomplishments, they would always berate him for comming in second.

When Murdock was blinded, Alan was overjoyed, believing that he finally had the edge on his old rival. However when Matt still proved to be the superior student and became valedictorian of their high school, Alan was enraged. Again his parents berated him for coming in second place.

Both Matt and Alan enrolled in law courses at Columbia University. When Matt once got superior marks to Alan, Alan decided to even the odds. Alan decided to steal the answers to the term's final law exam. However Matt discovered Alan's attempted theft and reported to campus security.

The Dean of Columbia's law department, Jason Sloan berate Alan and had him exspelled. Alan's parents disowned him and he was forced to become a janitor.

Years later, Alan was working as a janitor in the lab of Dr. Samuel Starr, a famous chemist. One night Dr. Starr creates a fear serum by accident. Alan knocks Starr out, steals his notes and the sample of the serum. He then sets fire to the lab, making it look like an accident.

Studying Starr's notes Alan manages to recreate the fear serum. Alan creates a costume and begins a campaign of revenge, as Mr. Fear. Mr. fear murders his parents and Dean Sloan by exposing them to his fear gas and giving them heart attacks. Now Mr. Fear is ready to gain revenge on the person he hates the most, Matt Murdock.

Ultimate Man-Bull:

A sad and pathetic creature, Man-Bull is one of a newer generation of Animal Evolutionary. Created by the cruel Dr. Kline at Roxxon's secret genetic lab, the creature was tortured, treated as a lab rat and given the name "Man-Bull" as sign of Kline's contempt of the creature. One night the "Man-Bull" creature escapes from Dr. Kline's lab. Dr. Kline assembles a team of mercenaries to track down and recapture the creature.

Daredevil discovers battle between Man-Bull and Dr. Kline's team and assumes that "Man-Bull" is the threat. The creature escapes and Kline tells DD that creature is dangerous and must be recaptured. When DD discovers the Man-Bull creature again he finds it is quite harmless and discovers evidence of torture. DD quickly discovers that Dr. Kline is the true monster, not Man-Bull.

Ultimate Ringmaster:

Maynard Tiboldt did not have a happy childhood, his druken father would beat him everyday. One day the police came and took Maynard Tiboldt's father away and Maynard has sent to several different foster homes, where he suffers similar abuses. When Maynard becomes 18 he joins a circus as a clown. Over his career as a clown, he sees happy families and is filled with rage, seeing happy families reminds him of his own stolen childhood.

One day he secretly kidnaps and murders one of the children visiting the circus. When he finds out about the family's sorrow on the news, he is killed with sadistic joy. Maynard quickly takes over the circus, filling it with criminals and freaks. Maynard's circus goes around killing children in small towns, framing some local pattsy for the crime. Soon Maynard's circus is comming to NYC.

Ultimate Death-Stalker:

Phillip Wallace Sterling had more money than a man could send in a life time, but he was bored. Comming from a rich and powerful family, Sterling was able to bribe a scientist at SHIELD into giving him a copy of plans for a new weapon, a device that creates a enegry field around a person that allows them to phase through soild matter and kill living things merely by touching them.

Having a copy of the device built, Sterling put on a ski mask, a trench coat and a fedora to disguise his identity. Sterling went around killing the "dregs of society" like hookers and homeless people, finding it was a lot of fun. The Daily Bugle soon named this new serial killer the Death-Stalker.

Any opinions on my Ultimate DD rogues ideas?

Posted this awhile ago, I'm still into this:

A team of Daredevil, Punisher, Iron Fist and Forge form the core team, with occasional appearances by The Hulk. Vibe is really urban, dark in both tone and dialogue, and takes place mostly in New York to start but eventually the world. The story plays out like a cross between Boondock Saints and Fight Club; as the world becomes resistant to superpowered beings controlling their destiny and the government tries to surpress the backlash, a movement forms amongst the people to enpower themselves.

Titled Ultimate Revolution, the fantasy creative teams I have in mind are either the Brian Azzarello/Eduardo Risso/Dave Johnson dream team, or Brian Wood and Alex Maleev with covers by Tim Bradstreet.

Can anyone honestly tell me they wouldn't get this?

Here's some storyline ideas I had for Ultimate DD:

Innocence Lost:

Children have disappearing all across NYC. Things get personal when local Hell's Kitchen resident Mickey O'Connor disappears as well. Daredevil tracks the children to an unlikely place the Tiboldt Family Circus. There DD has to face against the gruesome child killer known as the Ringmaster and his gang of twisted circus freaks.

Hostile Takeover:

After business leader Maxwell Glenn takes a loan from the Kingpin, Fisk forces him to use his company as cover for Fisk's drug smuggling operation. Maxwell Glenn's daugther goes to Matt Murdock for advice. The only witness to this scheme is a Glenn Industries security guard, who was recently blinded by Fisk's goons.

Power Play:

The Owl, after recent events, believes he can take over the Kingpin's empire and hires Patrick "The Gael" O'Hanlon, an ex IRA terrorist and current explosive expert for hire, to begin torching Fisk's holdings in NYC. Things gets worse when the Gael frames his ex lover, Glorianna O'Breen for the crime. Can Murdock prove O'Breen's innocence and can DD stop the Owl and the Gael before more innocent lives are losted.

Fear and Loathing:

When Matt discovers that Jason Sloan, the old dean of the Columbia law department when Murdock was a student there, has died under mysterious circumstances he begins to investigate. He soon discovers that Sloan was killed by Mr. Fear, a vengence obessed psychopath with a grudge against Matt Murdock, but why does Mr. Fear hate Murdock so much?

The Thin Blue Line:

Commisoner Robert O'Hara has declared war on all "costumed freaks" and started with DD. However investigations by officers Harold Driver and Paul Carson have revealed that O'Hara may be working for the Kingpin. Its up to Carson and Driver to prove that O'Hara is on the take, while DD has to avoid the NYPD.

Privileged:

A new serial killer, named the "Death-Stalker" by the media is killing homeless people and hookers in Hell's Kitchen. DD investigates and discovers that the Death-Stalker is really billionaire play boy Phillip Wallace Sterling. When DD tires to take down Sterling, he discovers that Sterling has enough power and money to keep himself out of jail and contiue his killing spree. Can DD have Sterling put away despites the influence he has over the justice system.

Warzone:

The Punisher has escaped from prison and is contiuing his violent war on crime. However Jigsaw, a gangster rendered deformed by the Punisher, has declared war on the Punisher, using all means at his disposal to kill Punisher. Daredevil becomes caught in the middle and has to take down both of those lunatics before the streets are littered with corpses.

The Color Purple:

Karen has recently been recieving a large number of gifts from a "secret admirer". Karen thinks it sweet, Foggy thinks its creepy and Matt is worried that this guy may be dangerous. Matt's fears are realized when the "secret admirer" turns out to be Zebediah Killgrave, a obsessive stalker who has recently been transformed into a psychotic rapist with mind control powers.

What Dreams May Come:

A new drug is flooding Hell's Kitchen. Its called "Dream Dust" and it makes LSD look like children's cold medcine by comparsion. Users experience complete hapiness and their greatest desires play before their eyes. When the effects wear off the user will do anything to got more Dream Dust. This new drug has greatly increased the amount of crime in Hell's Kitchen and DD vows to put an end to it. DD knows the Kingpin's mobs are the ones selling the drug, but who is creating it?

A Leap of Faith:

A dangerous new cult has been active in Hell's Kitchen recently. The Universal Church of Truth has been commiting ritual murders across Hell's Kitchen, cleansing it of "non-believers." Led by a dangerous madman called the Nameless One, DD has put these psychopaths out of comission before the streets are red with blood.

How was the Ultimate Daredevil and Elekra? What did they do to reimagine him for the Ultimate Universe? At first glance It seemed identical to 616.

It was just about the same. I think that they messed up a chance at makeing an Ultimate DD that is any different from MU DD. The only thing I would do is just stay true to Frank Miller's origin story, and have him focus on some of the dirtier corners of the Ultimate New York. Maybe change his costume a bit. But all in all, DD is very well written now, and I couldn't see how they could change him and still keep the special qualities of the character.

I agree. Daredevil is a great character, anyway. He's a "writer's character". Leave him as he is.

The only thing that needs Ultimized is his rogue's gallery.

I don't think he really needs too many changes to fit in with the Ultimate mindset. The Ultimate style of writing and character development would fit him like a glove as he is.

How would you revamp the Owl? And i'd love for ultimate Dd to take on the gladiator.

How would you revamp the Owl? And i'd love for ultimate Dd to take on the gladiator.

Not my idea but I heard of others talking about how Ultimate Owl should be a Animal Evolutionary. Besides I could make a little more intelligent than 616 Owl and a bigger threat to the Kingpin's empire.

Did you like my UDD rogues ideas?

Here are some other ones I came up with:

Serious:

Ultimate Wild Boys:

The Wild Boys are a street gang that operate in Hell's Kitchen. They act as low level enforcers for the Kingpin, selling his drugs, stealing cars and dropping them off to the Kingpin's chop shops. The Wild boys are run by two thugish brothers that go by the nick names Jet and Spit.
Daredevil busts up the Wild Boys after Mickey O'Connor tries to join them.

Ultimate Nameless One:

The man known only as the "Nameless One" is the leader of a cult known as "The Universal Church of Truth". He has taken the title of "The Nameless One" because he believes his name does not matter, only his mission does. The Nameless One believes he is the last prophet of God, sent here to cleanse the world of unbelievers who do not accept him as God's last prophet. He has total command over hundreds of followers who will do anything he commands and has been ordering ritual killings all over Hell's Kitchen. Only Daredevil can stop this madman.

Ultimate Bushwacker:

The man who would become Bushwacker was a deep cover operative of the CIA, his former civilian identity had been wiped away and he exists outside the system doing black ops work, he is also very religious man. The CIA decided they were tired of SHEILD getting all the super soldier resources, so they create some super soldiers of their own. Bushwacker was given extensive training and had one of his arm replaced with a gun. Bushwacker goes insane and kills his bosses. Bushwacker insane mind quickly decided the Daredevil is the anti Christ and God has tasked him the job of destroying Daredevil.

Ultimate Cobra:

Klaus Voorhees is a twisted killer and poisons expert, who goes by the name Cobra. Voorhees has doctorate in chemistry, though he was always interested in the effects poison can have on the human body. When he was high school student, he was able to poison the food at the school cafeteria killing 12 students and framed a dupe (the janitor) for the crime. Voorhees considers himself a scientist who must push limits to further research into poison.

Voorhees often kidnaps people off the street and exposes them to his poisons to study their effects. Voorhees has made a lot of money selling designer poisons on the black market poisons that odorless, flavorless, invisible to the eye, but he wishes to conduct a grand and epic experiment. He goes to NYC with plans to poison large number of people. Can DD stop this maniac?

Cobra carries pellets that contain poisonous gas with him and has a knife where the blade is covered with poison.

Funny:

Ultimate Matador:

Manuel Eloganto is a member of a Lantino gang and he is not very bright. The gang disrespcts him, so he decides to take over the gang by killing Daredevil and gaining a rep. Deciding super criminals are the next big "thing" he makes a home made costume and calls himself the Matador. At the begining of an issue, Matador runs to DD, looking for a fight, DD knocks him out with one punch. Eloganto is kicked out of the gang for being such a loser.

I forgot to include two rogues that I was going to put on my list so I will put them here.

Ultimate Gael- Patrick "The Gael" O'Hanlon was a IRA terrorist, but his disgust with the peace accord process made him leave the IRA and become an explosive expert for hire. The Owl decided to hire the Gael to help him with his war against the Kingpin. Owl is paying the Gael to blow up Fisk's buildings across the city. Considering all the property Fisk owns in Hell's Kitchen, Daredevil quickly realizes how important it is to bring the Gael in.

Ultimate Eric Slaughter- Young Eric grew up in Depression era Hell's Kitchen (1930s), although his family was loving they were always poor. Young Eric was a psychopath and decided that he would make money any way he could.

Eric joined a gang and quickly discovered he had a talent for killing people. He first killed when he was just 13 years old. The NYC's mafia bosses quickly heard about Eric and they all wanted him to work for them. He began to study under the top hitmen in NYC and was quickly becoming a dangerous professional killer.

Eric became the major provider for the family. At first his parents were pleased with Eric, but when they discovered how Eric was making his money they were horrified. They demanded Eric either stop killing or they would call the police. Eric chose a third option and killed his parents. Eric then abandoned his true last name and took new one, Slaughter.

Over the decades, age made Eric Slaughter a less effective hitman and eventually he was forced to retire. However in his youth, Eric had spent his money recklessly and now had to find another way to pay the bills. Eric then came up with a brillant idea, using what was left of his funds, Eric Slaughter set up a freelance assassins for hire business. Eric Slaughter now acts as an assassination agent, getting outside hitmen jobs with NYC's local crime bosses. Eric Slaughter also takes in less than effective thugs and transforms them into deadly professional killers. When ever someone needs to hire some hitmen, Eric Slaughter is the guy they often turn to.

A few mini series, there is no ongoing series. I didn't read them, but I heard they were boring because they were exactly like 616.

Anyway...

Ultimate Jigsaw- I know Jigsaw is a Punisher villain, but since its even more unlikely that Punisher will get a Ultimate title than DD and Punisher should make a fair amount of guest appearances in a Ultimate DD title I'm using him anyway.

Billy Russo known as "the hansome hitman" worked for the syndicate that offed Punisher's family. Billy Russo also had a son and wife who he really loves and who are unaware of of his criminal career. His bosses told him to kill the Punisher.

The Punisher kills Billy's crew and pushes Russo through a plate glass window to send a message to the syndicate.Billy's face is now deformed, the only the way to save it is through radical reconstruction surgery. Billy's face now looks like a looks like a jigsaw puzzle.

Billy comes home to find out his wife and son have left him having found out about his mafia ties after the glass plate event made the news. Billy Russo
takes the name "Jigsaw" and he now has only one purpose in life, to get revenge on the Punisher.

Jigsaw is able to create a moderately powerful syndicate and begins to declare war on the Punisher. (This because the other mafia bosees want to get rid of the Punisher but don't want to take him on their selves, for obvious reasons, so they are supporting Jigsaw's insane little campaign.) Punisher of course has escaped from prison and begins cutting a bloodly path through NYC's mafia structure. Now Daredevil has to get in the way, before Punisher and Jigsaw's little war leaves the streets littered with corpses.

I personally didnt find it boring, but the Ultimate Daredevil & Elektra mini was much more about Ultimising Elektra than anything to do with Daredevil really, that's why he was mostly a peripheral character in it.

I heard that that was the point of Ultimate DD+E, just to ultimize Elektra because there had been so many variations on her history, abilities and personality in the 616 universe. DD doesnt really ned to be ultimized because he has been pretty consistently portrayed by alll the different writers that have worked on his book.
