I don't know if this has been done before, or not, but I think it's a good fight - particularly at this point in time.

Admittably, Doom may very well get curbstomped by Sentry in a non-prep fight, so let's give both sides one hour prep. Who wins?

(Found this in the thread graveyard, buried for two years, ten days. There's a second Doom vs Sentry thread, started a month after this one though, so I "resurrected" the first. For the curious, the other thread is here (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=88590&highlight=doom+sentry).)

Anyway, this fight raises an interesting question: why doesn't Doom time travel back to the moment just before Robbie drank the Professor's "secret formula" and swallow it himself?

With standard Marvel time travel, Doom creates an alternate timeline where Sentry never exists, but still has to deal with current 616 Sentry when he returns, but with Doom now possessing Sentry level powers himself.

Doom-Sentry and Robbie-Sentry battle. I see no reason why Doom shouldn't win. Doom pre-formula is vastly superior to Reynolds pre-formula, after all, among other factors.

This could make for a nice multi-issue arc, supposing Dr. Doom could actually be beaten afterwards....

I forsee a "Pinky and the Brain"-like situation, where Doom gets ridiculously close to acieving world domination, only to be inadvertantly foiled by his favorite Doom-bot. I'd watch it.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Yet another one of my old threads is thread necromancied! :D

I still have the magic! ;) :p

Thanks, Syzygy, and you and DABishop both make great points. I kind of imagined this more as a straight-up fight, though.

If Doom even has 5 minutes of prep, he'll take it.

Doom's time platform doesn't create alternate timelines, so he could go back and be the only Sentry.

I don't know if Sentry has the speed for it (nor do I really care), but just once I want to see this.

Doom: "SUCH IS THE WILL OF...Why is Doom naked in Cuba!?"

It would be like the new "I'm Batman" :D

Couldn't Doom use the Ovoid mind swap if all else fails?

I mean, let's be honest here Bob isn't the most strong willed guy around. On the other hand? Doom is.

Doom creates an emergency powerjack but is foiled in his attempts to deploy it as Sentry drags him into space. Sentry hurls Doom into the Sun just as Doom manages to activate the powerjack device. Doom gains a garguantan power boost just as he's burnt to a crisp while Sentry decompresses in space, popping like a balloon.

um...i know the void is dead and all...but lets face it...we all know he's coming back.....hell i personally dont even think he's gone....but im seeing as soon as doom takes over his body...we got a void problem...and if doom drinks the formula....then does that mean we have a doom/void problem????

Hmmm, if the Void is the repressed dark side of Sentry's psyche made manifest thanks to his powers, then if Doom switched bodies with him Sentry would no longer have his powers and thus the Void would be rendered inert.

As for a Void-analog for Doom being created, I don't see that being as likely due to Doom having a stronger will and greater mental discipline, and thus greater psychic integrity. Though it might be interesting for Doom-Sentry to have a "Void" composed of his conscience and nobler impulses.
