View Full Version : Why is there an Infinite Crisis board, but not House of M?

Is it because there are not enough posts really to justify another board?

Is it because CBR admin's are in reality DC fanboys? (kidding :D)

Just wondering as I thought it was curious. Both companies are running summer event type stories, one of which is about over (and has no board) and another which is not yet released (and has a board).

I'm personally getting them both.

It's a traffic thing, not a prestige thing. The discussion of Marvel's effort isn't quite as . . . voluminous.

Indeed. What he said.

I have no clue what Infinite Crisis even is, so I'm really just curious. Why's it generating so much discussion?

well. .

not to piss on Marvel (although, I must admit that 6 issues into the "main" House of M storyline, I'm still just about bored to tears. . . if I wasn't so masochistic . . where I keep HOPING that something "good" will happen -- I would have dropped the series).

as I was saying. . not to piss on Marvel, but House of M seems to be getting put together by the seat of thier pants. It honestly seems that JUST NOW, they are starting to plan out what comes next -- with the recent solicitations of the follow up series.

on the other hand. . even tho we don't know exactly what Infinate Crisis is going to be (but there are clues - not only in the name, but in whom Luthor has the Villains United kidnap in the latest issue), it is clear that DC has this thing meticulously mapped out.

Seeds have been planted, and unlike Marvel (and I can only speak for myself here). . I get the distinct impression that DC knows what is going to grow.

to keep the comparison going, Marvel just threw all the seeds into the garden, and they hope what sprouts is going to be pretty. DC knows EXACTLY what they planted, and they seem to know what they are going to do w/ the garden afterwards.

also factoring in are a few excellent mini-series leading up to it. Of the 4, I'd say two of them are must reads for me, one is as close to "must read" as it can get, and the fourth is just so I can read all of em (just not into the Rann-Thanagar war mini). . . .

good stuff. .you should be checking it out Bibby

There is also the matter that a House of M Forum was never requested; whereas I received requests, via the proper channels, for both a Green Lantern and Infinite Crisis Board.
The Green Lantern idea was put on hold until we see how the level of discussion goes regarding that ongoing title but, as can be seen, we saw enough traffic about IC to warrant a forum for it.

So we should go make three hundred new Green Lantern threads now, right?

If you wish to see a Green Lantern forum then show us that the level of discussion to support such a forum is there. We are not about to take the effort of setting up a Forum if no one is going to use it.

I was just giving you a hard time, Matt. Hope I didn't seem serious. :D

I would rather the discussion happen naturally. I can push, and make all the threads based on Green Lantern, but after a while, if there really is not enough thread volume, it would just taper off, and you'd be left with a slow board. :)

I'll just let things happen naturally...if there's enough discussion, there is, if not, there's the JLA or DCU board. ;)
