Well, there you are flying along, when you start to feel a really big sneeze coming on. It's hard to reverse boot thrusters, land, raise your visor, pull a man-size E-Z wipe from your chest plate and let rip.

There's that page in Ultimates 1 #9 of the Iron Man suit on the launch pad, with a compartment on the back that is opened. Four jars of green liquid, I'm going with power cells or some type of coolant. Maybe the green goo is a combo of Tony's sweat and 'anti-freeze'? Of course, in (1) #12, he puked inside the helmet after guiding that huge Chitauri ship away from downtown Phoenix. So the 'green goo' in that case was like seven martinis and some liver paté.

I figured it was a sort of conductor for his nerve endings to communicate with the suit.

When I first saw it I actually thought it was vomit considering he likes to drink before he pilots the suit, and when The Hulk ripped the helmet off and green stuff was all over his face, you'd see how I made that assumption. But I missed the containers the first read through and now that I look back I still don't know what the heck they are. How does he operate the suit's capabilities? Is it voice command or mental?

Are we talking Ultimate Iron Man, 616 Iron Man, or the Hydra Iron Man from Amazine Spider-Man????

(If it were the Ultimate Iron Man, I would have guessed that the Black Widow gave him a dose of something vile.... :D )

I'm guessing that the green stuff is like some kind of cushioning embryonic type fluid to protect him from impacts and the like.

i am not following the series, but i remember seeing the first issue preview online: in the ultimate iron-man series his dad was testing out some bacteria-type armor that covered the skin. maybe the green stuff is a variant of that.
