Hey All,
Almost two weeks ago we believe we found the culprit of the regular slow downs of the CBR forums. It seems one thread, when clicked on, would bring the server to a screeching halt. While we're not quite sure which one it was as we could never bring it up when clicked on, we do know that since it was deleted we haven't had to restart the server once. Unfortunately we also don't know what it was about that thread that caused the problem, other than it was a very big one.
At least things have finally stabilized around here and that's good news. To those of you who've been wondering about the post pruning we've done lately, this is something that will happen with some regularity. I'm going to keep the number of threads available on the forums to those no older than 200 days (i.e. if a thread hasn't been posted to in over 6 months, it will get deleted automatically). As I've mentioned in the past, if there is content on these forums you'd like to see saved, then please archive it on your computer once you see it, otherwise we can't guarantee it'll be there forever.
Thanks to everyone for their patience through this period. I'm just glad we're able to serve you all properly once again.
