That happened to me once. It was a lousy job, I wasn't yet supporting even myself (was a student), so it wasn't too bad, but I'm appalled that professionals would do that sort of thing. It's downright vicious.
It seems that petty people at smaller companies (larger ones, at least the IT ones I am familiar with, wouldn't let this happen, as their reputations are valuable and their primary source of new contracts) engage in these kinds of tactics. It's pathetic, but unfortunately if we kill them we are still the criminals (note the weak Simpsons rip-off).
Is this a sign of the shrinking comic book marketplace when petty politics come into play? Or is it more a function of petty people in an industry where full time employment is not the norm?
