i love the fact that mtv raps had fab five freddy,dr dre and ed lover cause they were great hosts.BUT i think BET's rap city broke more artists.atleast the videos mtv wouldn't play.like bone thugs-n-harmony,easy-e and simuler artists.while mtv might play them they only played them during certin times of the day.so just because of that bet seemed more thorough.

I don't understand how exactly did Tigger ruin "Rap City?" What made him so different when compared to say "The Mayor" Chris Thomas, Big Lez, or Joe Claire?

IMO, Bet's better video show was the one shown at mid-day with Donnie Simpson. Especially Monday's when they showed old school R&B videos.

I have to many good memories of both shows to list.
But that last Yo MTV rap's was one of the best freestyle session I've ever seen. All those guy's just flowin' and Rakim at the end. Made me love hip hop again and also sad to see the show go. Wish I had a dvd of that last show.

This is slightly off topic, but I was watching a Judge Show a few months back (People's Court or Mathis, don't remember which) but Ed Lover and Dre were the defendants and being accused of taking money for an appearance and not showing up. IIRC, only Dre showed up though. Pretty funny.
