We all know what's going on in New Orleans, the gangland sorta stuff.
So here's my question,do you think any brands will use this as an excuse to send some superheroes down there,or even create a new one?
Noted, that if they do,the riots and shit will be probably be over by then, but I think it wouldn't be that bad an idea, but on the other hand,it is taking advantage of a disasterous situation.
your thoughts?

Eh, we'll see. Kind of tough since the only characters from that area anyone can think of are Gambit (New Orleans) and Rogue (Mississippi). Well, unless you count Brother Voodoo from the second Gambit series.
I'd imagine if either of those ongoings were still running (neither are) they might have done something. I don't think the X-Men will be going there anytime soon. And I'd really hope no company would be tacky enough to create a character just for the hurricane story.

I did think up a story about a weather-witch type character being unable or unwilling to divert a nasty hurricane from a heavily populated area.

No.
At least, I hope no one does it.
It would be unbelievably tasteless, sort of like doing a Spider-Man comic about 9/11 . . . oh wait.
Whatever the motivation, even if the company plans to donate all proceeds to relief efforts, it's still taking intellectual advantage of a horrible situation for the sake of cheap entertainment.

I did always wonder why one of these various characters who could control the weather never cooked up a serious natural disaster for some reason. But then, in comics, guys get the power of a god and use it ro rob banks. What can you do.

Well,I didn't meant the riot part more than the actual hurricane, and I don't mean JUST heroes in the surrounding areas, anyone could fly in I guess.

When I read the thread title, I thought, "Great, Bush is declaring a War on Nature, singling out Iran and North Korea as the Axis of Bad Weather."

What can you do.Well, maybe if your motivation was just to kill large numbers of people or cause massive property damage, but...

I don't know if it's tacky considering Captain America was a character that came out in WWII (Right?).

But then, the government isn't creating propaganda films to tell the country what a fine adventure it is to live in New Orleans right now.
There's a big difference between the perception of war (especially WWII) and the perception of a natural disaster that has left thousands dead and millions homeless. Maybe there shouldn't be, but that's a completely different subject.
