He's an insurance adjuster these days. He lives in Boise, Idaho with his ex-girlfriend and his step-brother Josh.

Seriously though, I thought Electric Superman was very fun.

First of all, even though everyone and their dog knew it was temporary, it still took balls for DC to decide "we won't be publishing any REAL Superman stories for the next year or s". :)

Second, I thought it demonstrated Superman's bravery and intelligence by having to adapt to these weird new powers immediately, and still pull off comparable feats to those he used to. Like trying to catch a falling plane when he couldn't physically touch anything.

I wish they had reworked those powers into another hero, since they were pretty cool. So was the costume design.

I wasn't familliar with this incarnation and had to have a talk with ye olde search engine to find pictures.

Here are a couple, incase anyone else was curious:

I hated it at first (Kal-el as the love child of Magneto and Electro), then it kind of grew on me... then, the whole Superman Red/Superman Blue twist/homage at the end left me cold. Still, I did like the way Morrison portrayed him in JLA... having to figure out how to move the moon with his new set of powers. Nice stuff, that.

Yeah he was there for some issues in JLA as well...it always made me confuse the storyline up, as i though Supes got some power up or something, but DC did the blue Superman out of nowhere no explanation.

Question:

Was Strange Visitor's powers similar the enrgy-form Superman's? I know she used his containment suit, but her power came from Kismet, and I never recall seeing her in action...

I though it was a little stupid myself. Why reinvent a timeless character. There was no way people would like any 'new' Superman more, no matter how well they designed him.

I thought it was great myself.

It's better than a one issue story where it happens, yeah we all know it's going to get undone, but the strength is in the journey, not the destination. :)

And when Superman-Red and Superman-Blue died saving the world (What was it they said? The sky turned red and the ground turned blue, and two supermen died to save the world?) it was great, the perfect Superman story.

It was never the point to redesign him. It was just a struggle he had to go through. Just like when they do a "Superman loses his powers" story. It's not to see if readers will like a powerless Superman better, it's to tell a story where Superman overcomes his difficulties.

Lois could be sure who was who and who was her real hubby!
