Well I am going to bring this back once more and see how this does.

Basically the same rules from before.

I will quote this from Nightcrawler.

Okay, this didn't exactly work out last time, but I was thinking it was a good idea, and could be done well. The idea will be basically the same as last time, where you give yourself any power (with a power cap) and go head to head with other posters.

Power cap: < Superman, Thor, Wonder Woman, Sentry, etc. No reality benders, omniscence, no cheap shots like that. If there is any debate, the person running the matches will make the call.

Rules: Create any power you like, just follow the power cap. Only 3 people to each power, meaning that 3 people max could control fire. Only 3 people could shoot plasma. You get it.

If no one else wants to run it, I will. Only post your powers if you are doing this without a doubt.

And what will happen is you start out in a dugeon, and at first you can only have one power. As you go on you can either upgrade your power even more or get a new power. You can chose yourself.

And if you have any questions you can ask me.

Thank you and have fun!

EDIT:Oh I will add something new in this one, you can go in with one power and one weapon, the only way you can level up is if you beat a boss.

I choose Energy Manipulation, and if that is too cheap, then I control magic.

Enegry Manipulation, magic is uhhh, I don't want to say taboo, but since it has a vast amount of things you could, and I'm trying to avoid that. So Enegry Manipulation it is. You know what weapon you want??

Also Anthony, can you tell me what type of Enegry you can control??

Nevermind my first 2 ideas, can I have telekinesis instead?

As for the weapon, I want a spear.

Thats cool. For the start, it will be a low level TK but it will get stronger.

And yes, a spear is good.

Don't really need a weapon.

Ehh, for starters it must be very very weak when you start off, after that, then along time goes on then it can get stronger I guess.

Well, it's a force that pretty much operates on the atomic level anyways, so what exactly do you mean by "weak?"

Pariah128
09-03-2005, 02:22 PM
What about magnestism? ala Magneto, or would the shield be too powerful?

If so, for a weapon I'd like a small box of ball berrings, or whatever theyre called, small enough to where I can carry it on a belt

I should;ve said that, it is solo.

And your Super Speed isn't going to be "Flash" level yet....you have to beat atleast 20 bosses untill we could think of that.

That is fine, but at first it must be weak, well...ehh...let me rephrase it. At first your power will take a little time to work, and you can't "attract" large large metal items.

Oh yeah. All of it is possible, but for the point being, for the start, you cannot start, but as you go along you will power up, and maybe there might be a little race to see who can get out of the dugeon/temple/cave first....

Ok cool, will I be able to manipulate the metal early on? thats why I chose the ball berrings, they are basically just round chunks of metal iirc, I'd wanna do stuff like re-arrange some of it so its a bit smaller but say with a pointed edge on one end..or something

Well Cable can create worlds, and I think he is the highest limit, so well depends on how long you stay and keep on doing this, I don't know depends on how many bosses you defeat and how much you seem to know about your powers, in a few months or so you could be creating/ merging worlds (But that will be very much down the road)

Corey: At first I'll be able to use my magnetism to control metal/metalic based objects. So I'll be able to make my staff fly around ala Star Wars: Clone wars Jedi/Sith. And, if i'm allowed, limited flight of myself (ala Magneto/Dr.Polaris).

Nah, you can use your lodestone, I just didn't know what it was...

From wikipedia:

Lodestone or loadstone refers to either:

Magnetite, a magnetic mineral form of iron(II), iron(III) oxide Fe3O4, one of several iron oxides.
A piece of intensely magnetic magnetite that was used as an early form of magnetic compass.
Iron, steel and ordinary magnetite are attracted to a magnetic field, including the Earth's magnetic field. Only magnetite with a particular crystalline structure, lodestone, can act as a natural magnet and attract and magnetize iron. The direction pointing nature of lodestone was known as far back as 4th century China, where it was used in geomancy. By the 12th century the Chinese were known to use the lodestone compass for navigation, but far earlier magnetic bacteria (Italian) had learned the trick. Magnetotactic bacteria build miniature magnets inside themselves and use them to determine their orientation relative to the Earth's magnetic field [1].

Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lodestone"

On Hedge Magic:

You are a practitioner of hedge magic, the subtle magic of wise-women and rural wizards, most suited to keeping crops healthy and children snug, and to catching cryptic glimpses of the future. Hedge wizards are the keepers of ancient secrets: herbs that ease pain, forgotten words that can calm an angry beast, the nature of omens, and the language of the stars. Their powers are the powers of life and fate.

To put it another way: where an ordinary Physician can give you a root to ease your toothache, a wise-woman can give you a root, a chant, and a candle to remove your toothache entirely (and give you pleasant dreams). Where an ordinary Animal Handler can calm a wild horse, then take it home and break it and teach it to jump and canter, a hedge-wizard can calm a wild horse with an ancient word remembered only to horses, in such a way that the beast will follow the mage home, eager to be taught.

In many cultures, hedge-mages are essentially priests of a simple nature-faith that peasants practice alongside their more organized religion. In others, this advantage might represent the powers of any kind of holy man or subtle sorcerer.

The lodestone acts as a focus, allowing me to better sense the forces of nature in my area. I'm shooting for a gnostic-type Hedge Mage, one who starts with small tricks but can eventually do things like teleporation, elemental transformation, etc.

The lodestone acts as a focus, allowing me to better sense the forces of nature in my area. I'm shooting for a gnostic-type Hedge Mage, one who starts with small tricks but can eventually do things like teleporation, elemental transformation, etc.

Sounds like nature magic. You'll definitely come in handy. :)

Jared: What exactly are you planning to do with the lodestone? Is it a weapon and/or compass?

I am connected to the lodestone, which is both of the earth(allowing me to be in touch with nature), as well as one with energy(I can sense the forces around the electromagnetic field the lodestone generates). This allows me to interact with nature and energy more easily, as well as detect the flow of energy in a room, and interact with it. This also could somewhat assist my precognition abilities, as I'll be able to sense the forces working behind the scenes.

It'll also allow me to monitor your use of power, Magneto X(and perhaps amp it when needed):)

This powerset might be a little vague, but here goes..

I want my guy to be half troll, giving him the basic powers associated there with, enhanced strength, damage resistant hide, myab en actual troll form when he reaches higher levels.

In otherwords just your average tank.

His starting weapon if allowed will be war hammer.

Overlord of Gravity, hm?

I'll have to keep an eye on you. :)

The good news is that by and large, electromagnetism is considered the strongest of the 4 fundamental forces of nature(the other beins gravity, weak nuclear force, and strong nuclear force). In other words, Sandman can likely lift as much as you can, but he can lift more types of stuff, while you can do some things he can't(repel metallic weaponry, etc). And our man Anthony has just as much variability as Sandman at this stage. Eventually, Sandman can use our own weight to crush us, but by that point, Anthony could manipulate the air in his lungs while you disrupt the electrical impulses in his brain.

As for me, I'll be capable of a few more...let's say, insidious things...

Powers: Darkness/Shadows. William can manipulate even the smallest shadow to do his bidding. Depending on the size of it,William can also use shadows to 'Shadow Walk' between shadows/darkness. He can also turn shadows solid, thus making them into any sort of item/weapon/ect...

William can control Electricity to a fairly high degree.
William can also heal his wounds, though the act takes a bit of his energy if the wound is to big.

William can also bend light to make himself invisible, and see into all spectrum's of light if he so wishes. (Though this is the extent of his Light powers, or else it would work against his Shadow power too much).

William now has the Divine Dragon Essence which enables him to transform into the Divine Dragoon.

William also controls the Order and Chaos magics from the Recluse Saga. (Making him a Grey Mage instead of just Black or White).

Ehh,kinda. In Nightcrawler's old thread,I was just able to use shadows and darkness to 'Shadow Walk' between places. Since I don't have my other powers backing me in this one,I decided to amp my Darkness abilities from the old thread.

And yeah,I based my powers from this thread a little bit off of Shade. Though my weapon is a combination of a staff, chain, and scythe.

Shade has been shown as both a hero and a villian.

From wikipedia:

When the age of costumed heroes began, the Shade sought combat for its own sake, but left Opal City alone, never seeking to fight Ted Knight, the original Starman. The Shade would interrupt his career as a 'super-villain" to aid the Allies in England, where he came into battle with his dwarfish opposite number. Unknown to the Shade, the battle left him fused together with Culp, who could take control of his host on occasion. (This was a cunning way for Robinson to explain how a character he wrote as amoral at worst could have been a fairly repulsive villain in many appearances over the years.)

With the arrival of Jack Knight, star of the new series and son of the original Starman, the Shade cultivated an unlikely friendship with the new hero. Jack (and the reader) would be privy to the Shade's diaries, learning much of his life. The Shade's pivotal role in rescuing Ted Knight from another villain gained him the provisional trust of Jack and the Opal City police. The Shade's behavior would still come under scrutiny, however, and for good reason as Culp was laying the groundwork for his re-emergence.

Near the end of the series, Robinson and artist Peter Snejbjerg tied up the history of the Shade as part of the 13-part "Grand Guignol" story, allowing the Shade to rid himself of his archfoe for good and to perhaps leave his villainous ways behind.

And thankee for the compliment on my char. I'm hoping to have some fun with him.

Jeremiah's lanky form is just barely able to duck as the massive sword knocks his hat clear off his head. Jeremiah sputters curses and dashes away, tucking his lodestone into his bag with one hand while dipping to pick up his hat with his other. Placing his hat atop his head, he then reaches back into his bag and pulls out a handful of vines. Opening his hand, he mutters a few incantations, keeping an eye open for stalactites as the golemn plods after him. He then spits directly onto the shriveled vines, which abruptly turn green and begin to grow. Jeremiah then whirls around, hurling the tangle of vines at the golemn.

"A growth of vines can shatter even concrete, over time" mumbles Jeremiah as the now-verdant tangle worms its way into the rocky behemoth's body, opening and widening fissures and clogging joints.

The Golem starts shaking and finally breaks the vine of leaves. It takes it sword and throws it deep into the ground causing a earthearthquake everywhere in the dugeon. The Golem picks up Jeremiah and throws him into the wall.

Jeremiah's vision blurs and flashes red as he slams into the wall. He knows the golem has shaken free of the vines on the outside, but cannot touch those that are worming their way through its insides like cancerous veins. Still, another hit like that, and it'll be the end for him. As the monstrous construct plods towards him over the damp cave floor, slowed by the organic web burrowing in its structure, Jeremiah frantically digs in his bag, and pulls out two small identical vials of liquid. He then does the unexpected: he runs straight at the approaching golem, muttering another incantation, then diving between its legs, letting one of the vials drop and shatter on the moist rock. The oily substances spreads over the water, making the cave's already slick surface almost frictionless. The golem topples, the weakness in its structure caused by the vines leading to parts of its form crumbling off as several tons of rock collide with the ground at 9.8 meters per second. Jeremiah then hurls the second vial directly at the fallen figure, covering it entirely with the slick liquid. As the golem thrashes about, slowly tearing itself apart, Jeremiah takes out his lodestone and concentrates on the vines still growing within the golem. He mutters several more incantations, and the vines begins to erupt from beneath the golem's "skin," causing entire segments to fall off. Eventually, the golem tears itself apart with its own strength and the forceful pushing of the vines within. Jeremiah approaches what now appears to be an overgrown rock garden, looking for whatever element or device provided the monstrosity with animation.

You have beaten your first enemy!! Read my post before to see what you have found....

I am flung back, hitting the floor. I lay panting for a moment, putting a tk force field around myself. I get up, charging the merman, force field up, sword raised. I try to slash him across the chest.
The merman flies back, bleeding. It sticks his trident into the ground saying "TETRA ELEMENTAL!" in mermanish language. Lighting, fire, and water surge through the ground heading straight to you.

I will be back in a little bit, I have to eat lunch...

I yank myself into the air in the last moment, breathing heavily. I pull myself toward him, and yank him towards me, holding my sword out.

OT: no problem. Also, how many battles do you have to have before a boss?

I stop, catching my breath, then move on through the tunnel.

OT: Corey, you're doing a great job with this.
