So, I took a look at my post count a second ago and it seems there's been another thread death of some manner. Does anyone know the casualty?

Jonah did some more pruning last night. If you tried to access the forums around ten o'clock PST, you couldn't get in and there was a message explaining why.

I hardly pay any attention to my post count at all. I'm sure I've lost posts in the recent purges, but I couldn't begin to even give a rough estimate of how many. Hell, whenever a thread like this does prompt me to look at my post count, I'm always surprised by how (relatively speaking) high it is considering that though I hang out and read a lot, it feels to me like I hardly ever post much here.

Yeah, but apparently, attatched photos now automatically show, instead of you having to click on them! How cool, and should have been done a million updates ago, is that?

This is true! An excellent change to the way things work here!
Not that clicking on them was any great hardship, but it's the little things that count.

There was an inquisitorial purge

What happened to dosadi's girls girls girls thread? I accidentally deleted the yahoo message that had Guapo's reply....
Is there going to be a new thread every time this happens?

Obviously, it was deleted.
Obviously, it was deleted.
Well, sometimes it gets merged and stuff....

Easiest thing is to do a post search on the name of someone you know was posting. You'll find merges that way. And if you find nothing, you know it's zapped.

Yes. Such is the price of infusing new blood in to the forum.

I just tried this on a thread and it gave me the usual click to see thing.
So what happened?

Although, just for the record? Probably not the best day to start a thread entitled "What died?", ya know?

Would it be too much to ask the mods to just list what threads they've deleted?

Would it be too much to ask the mods to just list what threads they've deleted?Yes, because it's done not by individual thread, but by the date a thread was last posted to.

More threads got pruned overnight.
3,000 more messages gone that I posted.
Just updating, not complaining.

Not that I actually care about my postcount...but are these deletions permanent? Just curious cause some good Avengers threads that I participated in were deleted...I was hoping to see them in the archive, but no luck. :(
The deletions are permanent.

Y'know, someone can easily input some sort of "shrinkage" joke here.
That someone won't be me though.
And I don't really mind the post trimmings, as long as these fine boards keep going smoothly.
