Has anyone bought the current version of Lady Death? If you have is it worth picking up?

That's...a difficult question to answer.

Medieval Lady Death

It's okay. Not brilliant, but not bad either. I haven't dropped it yet, as it's just good enough to keep me interested, and keep me reading. Just.

The thing about this story - the most interesting part, which keeps me coming back - is Tvarus. The subplots about the eldritch, and Tvarus' descent into madness, is usually more interesting than the main story about Lady Death herself.

However, it seems to be picking up. The last couple issues were a lot better than the first four.

Classic Lady Death

There's only been a few issues for this series, and they've been released out of order. Abandon All Hope is okay, but it moved too fast, was rushed, and nowhere near as good as The Reckoning (but then, what is?).

The Wicked is better. It has some good artwork, and a better, more original story.

Is Purgatory back in this series?

Is Purgatory back in this series?

No.

If you haven't heard - Lady Death is now owned by Avatar, while Purgatori and the rest of the Chaos characters are now owned by Tales of Wonder, licensed to Devil's Due.

Lady Death is being published by Avatar.

Purgatori, Evil Ernie, etc, are being published by Devil's Due.

Seperate publishers, with no connection to each other, and Lady Death no longer has any ties to the other Chaos characters.

(though I'm sure an inter-company crossover is inevitable)

Well i got Lady Death Swimsuit 2005, its pretty good, there amazing pic, the character seem interesting and she is definately on my list, but now i am still buying all Magdalena or Witchblade i can, plus i want The Darkness too(even if i would probably hate that bastard forever for what he did to little Magdy) and so thats a lot of money so it should come in time.

But one thing bother me about Lady Death, there like so much serie...i don`t even know all of them, which one is the first serie that introduce the character etc? i would like to start from the beginning.

I buy the Medieval Lady Death, not the "classic" Lady Death.

Does this answer your question? (http://www.devilsdue.net/promo/Purgatori_5_Page_Preview.pdf) ;)

Devil's Due are rewriting Purgatori's origin from scratch, with the new series set in ancient Egypt.

However, they've assured us that Purgi will still be a vampire, still be an evil bitch, and still be a lesbian. Good thing too. The hardcore fans would riot if they changed that about her. :evilsmile

can anyone explain how all the different series work? like for example I was looking through the back issues at the store and they had all these series that I think are all going on at the same time, like Abandon all Hope, The Wicked, and 10th Anniversary and some others I think, can anyone just clear things up for how that all works?

It doesn't help that the series have been released out of order. Abandon All Hope is the 'new' origin story, and everything else takes place after that, but that mini hasn't been finished yet.

I dropped "Medieval Lady Death" after the first storyarc. All the magic from the two CrossGen series was gone and I didn't bother with it anymore. I also canceled the rest of the Pulido titles and finished only "Belladona" and that book with the chick with them big... ehm... switchblades (or so).

The only reason to try it once more would be if Matt Martin or Bill Maus were to pencil it and if it would remain in b/w.
