Sorry if some of this stuff is old news.

A previously unreleased solo by late Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell will appear on Nickelback's upcoming new album, 'All The Right Reasons'. The 24-second guitar lead was donated to the band by Dime's brother, drummer Vinnie Paul, and assembled from outtakes from the Pantera albums 'Vulgar Display of Power', and 'Far Beyond Driven'.

The Doors of the 21st Century are no more. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek announced that the band, which includes two surviving members of The Doors, would now be known as Riders on the Storm.

MORRISSEY has announced that he will start work on his new album in September.

Former Creed frontman, Scott Stapp, will be releasing is solo debut on November 22nd via Wind-Up Records. The first single titled "The Great Divide" will hit radio on September 26th.

Following the departure of drummer Andy "Outbreak" Granelli, bassist Ryan Sinn has quit the Distillers. This past Thursday Sinn posted the announcement to the band's now-removed MySpace page.

OZZY OSBOURNE has issued a compassionate statement to his fans, stating his plans for the future:

"After 10 years, I've decided that this year will be my last as the headlining act on Ozzfest. The Ozzfest is well-established now and I feel it's time for me to hand the reigns off to someone else. However, I will be performing at a few select Ozzfest shows next year."

The original Gang of Four — who reunited last May — are at it again. The post-punk band will be heading out on a monthlong tour, starting September 29 in Providence, Rhode Island.

The track listing has been revealed for the CD portion of the Deftones' upcoming "B-Sides & Rarities" CD/DVD release, here's how it shapes up:
01 - "Savory" (Jawbox Cover) (Feat. Jonah Matranga of Far/Gratitude)
02 - "Wax And Wane" (Cocteau Twins Cover)
03 - "Change (In the House of Flies)"

Radio 1 have announced that the very first ‘John Peel Day’ will take place on October 13. The day will be a celebration of John’s life and his contribution to music. They are hoping that as many people as possible will organise events and gigs across the country under the same banner. Gigs can be as small or huge as you like with info, advice and logo’s available from the Radio 1 website.

COLDPLAY have been playing tribute to JOHNNY CASH on the North American leg of their TWISTED LOGIC world tour.

The band have added the legend’s classic ‘Ring Of Fire’ to the acoustic section of their show alongside the set regulars ’Don’t Panic’ and ’’Til Kingdom Come’, which was written for Cash but never recorded by him before his death in 2003.

Cult rockers MY MORNING JACKET are to make their movie debut in CAMERON CROWE's new film ELIZABETHTOWN - they'll play members of a LYNYRD SKYNYRD tribute group, called RUCKUS, in the film.

Activision Inc. and Vagrant Records are upping the ante for video game soundtracks with "Tony Hawk's American Wasteland." Due this fall, the 14-track set compiles classic punk songs as performed exclusively for the game by some of the popular bands they influenced.

My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, Dropkick Murphys, Thrice, Alkaline Trio, Hot Snakes and others recorded well-known tracks by such seminal artists as Black Flag, the Stooges, Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Boys, Buzzcocks, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits and the Misfits.

Former Phish frontman Trey Anastasio has nailed down a Nov. 1 release date for his first new studio collection since Phish disbanded last year.

Former Vandals lead singer Steven "Stevo" Jensen passed away at his home on the island of Maui last weekend due to causes as yet unknown. Jensen sang for the Vandals from 1980 through 1984, appearing on the band's first two full-lengths, Peace Through Vandalism and When In Rome Do As The Vandals before being replaced by current vocalist Dave Quackenbush.

Guitarist Jan Nils Ackermann had the following to say: "First as his friend and then as his bandmate, I noticed that whoever met Stevo was touched by his unique sense of humor and talent for entertaining. Trust me...there was nothing he wouldn't do for a laugh. I was constantly surprised and entertained by Stevo, even at our own shows. Stevo was a great friend and an outstanding entertainer. Anybody who came to our shows knew that.

"The Vandals of the Stevo years (1980-84) stood for nothing more than having a good time and poking a little fun at such a serious and confusing world. Stevo's Vandals had no dogma, no agenda, no anger, and no greed... Stevo was an inspiration to me and was always our friend...always. On behalf of myself and Vandals bassist Steve "Human" Pfauter, we extend our sincere condolences to Stevo's parents and family.Long Live Stevo...Anarchy Burgers for everyone!"

Wow. I just saw the Vandals...last weekend.

That's sad, they probably had no idea, since he must have been dying right as the Saturday show was going on here in New York.

Also: the Distillers seem to be bleeding members. They lost a bassist before, and now another one and a drummer.

Knight was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital to be treated for the gunshot wound and a resulting broken bone. There are conflicting reports about the shooting and the shooter and at press time there have no arrests in relation to the incident.

The new Weezer video for "We Are All on Drugs" has made it online. The funny thing about this video is that is basically the Weezer song played over Grim Reaper's "Fear No Evil" video.

Buzzcocks fans have a nugget of hope to keep them warm this winter: A new album is on its way. The Manchester OG punk unit will release its Flat-Pack Philosophy, tentatively scheduled for a Feburary release.

Former DAMAGEPLAN frontman Pat Lachman paid tribute to 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott at last Thursday's Dallas, TX Ozzfest by dedicating two guest appearances to his fallen friend and bandmate.

Lachman performed the song '99' with THE HAUNTED and later 'Inspiration On Demand' with SHADOWS FALL.

After becoming friends on last year's Devastation Across The Nation tour, both bands invited Lachman to join them on stage in Damageplan's hometown.

The Doors of the 21st Century are no more. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek announced that the band, which includes two surviving members of The Doors, would now be known as Riders on the Storm.

Y'know had they actually done something like this from the outset instead of trying to call themselves "The Doors" they might have kept a lot more of their dignity intact.

Also: the Distillers seem to be bleeding members. They lost a bassist before, and now another one and a drummer.Well, they aren't really a band, just Brodey and whoever she hires. And I think she's replaced the entire band once, but I could be wrong.

Be fuckin' hilarious if they sued that scumbag Manzarek over it.

Fair enough. All I know is: if they're selling, I'm buying.

I haven't found anything to confirm if there is one, but it seems the same thing is being said by other people elsewhere. It would be interesting if there was a band by that name.

Former Creed frontman, Scott Stapp, will be releasing is solo debut on November 22nd via Wind-Up Records. The first single titled "The Great Divide" will hit radio on September 26th.

I'll be getting this. Stapp has that voice and I think he was taking Creed into using classical music into the songs from what I remember reading a long time ago. That he wanted to go in a more classical/Rock type deal.

Yep...he's retiring alright. I knew Ozzie would never quit.
