I have about 100 burned CDs from my college days, many of them are mixtapes, and some I have no idea who they are anymore, including a lot of songs I really like.
Does anyone have a tip on how I could go about IDing these artists, because I have an urge to buy some of their music, but in some cases, I only have one song, and no idea the actual title, artist, or album.

I would say either playing the songs for someone you know who likes whatever kind of music the song is, or google searching identifiable lyric chains to see if you can find out that way.

Some cd-burning software will link to CDDB when you go to make a copy. Nero and iTunes do, for example. I've noticed it happens for me even with a mix cd that someone created.

I just load them. Might depend on how recently the drive was made? I can't edit anything but it shows up with things like title, artist, and album.

The mix CDs probably have CD text, which has a listing of that information stored on the actual CD-R.

You can find the names on Real One Player only if it's a full album.
