I'm sure some music snob will ream my butt out for this, but I'm listening to their new album and really grooving on it. It has a sort of retro 80s metal feel to it, but has got some really catchy licks to it.

I like A7F ok. Their new CD does have that retro feel to it. If you want to hear some of their more thrashy, metalcore sound, my wife really loves the Waking the Fallen CD. They also throw a great show, if you can tolerate the kiddies.

I think Avenged Sevenfold is very cool. I too liked the retro feel of some of the riffs.

I'm not typically a fan of this kind of music, but A7F ROCK! Very versatile in their approach.

My younger brother turned me onto these guys (they're his favorite band), but he said he wasn't digging the new album cuz there's no screaming. I think I may like this even more cuz the whole screaming thing seems to be getting pretty cliche anymore, but I haven't heard any of this new album yet.

And yes, they do put on a kick ass show. If you can stand the kiddies. But then, they're just kiddies themselves.

dude Im a huge fan of Avenged and yes they do put on a good show but their Waken the Fallen completely outshines their new stuff all of it.

In fact all their old stuff is truly superior. Their new cd takes some getting used to its ok at best.
