Pretty simple thread, really- who do you think is the ideal match for Rahne Sinclair, Wolfsbane, based on her past crushes and/or actual romantic partners? Feel free to explain why for extra style points.

If Christina and I had our way, Josh (Elixir) and Rahne would never have gotten back together. Maybe they would have had some awkwardness the next time they saw each other, but they were done.

He was something she got swept up in when she was confused, and she was his impossible dream before he realized the perfect girl for him was Laurie.

I voted for Sam, because I would have loved to have written those two getting together - we hinted at it in our NM reunion Issue (New Mutants #13)

I've enjoyed the hints (yours, Nunzio, as well as those in the last NM mini) that there's some chemistry between Sam and Rahne.

Her entanglement with Elixr was very believable, btw. One of my favorite parts of your series.

I'll go with Sam. Though I think I might like her with Madrox more. But nostalgia forces me to vote for Sam.

Though I'm approaching this directly from a Rahne fan's perspective. In the "Who Should Sam end up with" polls I usually vote for Boom Boom (I'm never calling her Meltdown) or Lila. Depends.

Umm... I don't know, because they were sucking face for a while? I'm not advising they get back together, but it is just a tad more likely than, say, Magneto. All the names on that list are past loves or romantic partners of Rahne (okay, okay, with the exception of Dani).

The fanboy in me wants to say the resurrected Doug. I think Doug got screwed when he got killed. The ONLY reason he was killed was cause he had the passive power. If they had made it so he could read people (body language) he could be a asskicker (think the current Batgirl)....But they limited it to Language and computers.

But in reality I would love to see her get together with Madrox. That would be great.

It would be interesting for Havok to really appreciate Rahne's "programmed" infatuation with him now (when she no longer wants him).

He'd just lose interest in Polaris. The writers have been having her punish him for his other relationships for too long. It doesn't seem to be working now, but it may be developed more soon.

More Likely: It seems like there will be a triangle between Madrox, Rahne, and Rictor in David's new "X-Factor".

That's not bad either..

I vote for Sam (though Sam and Siryn sure look cute together on the first page of Cable&Deadpool 16) but I think that maybe a completely new character or an existing character she has not be linked with before may be more interesting.

Madrox and Rahne: I think there are characters out there better fitted for Madrox. They work better as good friends.

I think too many female characters are defined by who they are dating... look at Rogue (almost every story invlves her and Gambit... on again, off again...) or Jean (Scotts soulmate or Wolverine's lust bunny). It took 20ish years (Byrne's run) before Sue Richards showed any independance and wasn't JUST Reeds wife and the teams mother.

That being said, I think she needs to be with someone that can handle her mutant powers in bed like Wolverine or someone with claw resistant skin like Colossos because once she gets... "going"... I think the animal in her would take over.

I could see that happening, the animal in her taking over once she gets going... as for Colossus or Wolverine... dont think so, not in my eyes anyway.

Though even with that said my vote is still Warlock, I enjoyed the time the shared during their time in Excalibur and his solo series.

However closely following the first vote would be Cannonball; just cause Ive always thought those two would make for a great relationship.

I would vote Madrox, but to me I see the two as more of a sister/brother sorta relationship rather then girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. (Rahne even stated it back in NXAX issue 15 - when she was talking to Shan)

Dani Moonstar I almost voted for too but Ive always enjoyed the soulmate relationship the two have shared.

IIRC, there was a hint at it in New Mutants: Truth or Death as well, as they headed for a reunion, with Sam contemplating it, thinking that Rahne had a crush on him when younger and wondering if she still did... so it's been there for a while now.

Let's face it, Cannonball is just a gigolo for the mid-generation of mutants- Lila, Boomer, possibly Amara, Rahne, who knows who else...

More wrong than the fact that Rahne, um... "getting going" in the way people are talking about would technically constitute bestiality? I think we're venturing into MAX territory here.

Anyway, I voted Doug because they had the sweetest, most believable relationship (even when she was with Warlock, it was basically Doug's personality with 'Lock's memories), but Sam's a close second... I just love those two crazy kids together.

And Slade, I don't think kissing exactly constitutes "bumping uglies." Rahne may -- may -- have had sex by now, but she certainly hadn't back then.

I only named him because of his tough metal skin. I think she'd shred someone like Gambit or any other "normal" person without a tougher exterior or a healing factor.

I don't wanna see her back with Doug. Been there, done that. Move on... try NEW things. I read all about them the first time... that's also my reason for Scott staying with Emma. It's new, different and NOT JEAN. We've seen the Scott-Jean thing for 40 years now... MOVE ON. With Doug and Jean being dead I think that helps.

The X-Men were created in 1963. That's 40 plus years of Scott and Jean. I know they didn't get together till a bit later, but there were years of thought bubbles saying "If he only knew how much I loved him" and "I can never get close to her with these eyes, no matter how much I love her."
