Steakhouses everywhere are famous for challenges like these.

http://www.bigtexan.com/72oz.html

Eat an impossibly large cut of beef in an allotted time and its free.

Who here'd tackle a challenge like that?

I would on some things, but not steak.

A 72 oz steak in an hour doesn't seem that outrageous.

When I worked at a high school, they had an ice cream eating contest.

I got my arse kicked by a twelve-year-old girl.

Not me.. half the time I have to order off kids menus. (Or I have enough to take home for at least one more meal.)

Not from restaurants, but from friends.

Every year we were in high school, right after finals two friends and I went to a buffet. We had a standing bet that whomever ate the most plates had the two losers pay for his plate. I always paid for someone else.

The only one I can remember was one where I was able to eat 4 dishes. My friend Oswaldo gave up at the 3rd, but my friend Santiago had 5 dishes, a bowl of cereal and was well into his 7th.

This days? Two slices of pizza and 1 large soda and I pay for it the whole night.

Sure. I did so in the past. Had to do with eating a stuffed pizza. I can eat an inhuman amount of pizza. Dont know how well Id do with other food though.

During my first year of college I did.

I was the only girl who entered the contest, and I (unsurprisingly?) came in last place.

It was a donut eating contest.

Did they give milk, or water with those donuts?

I'd enter a steak challenge, sure. Might not be able to make it, these days. Back in high school, we'd have our own challenge for the jocks that hung around: burritos, 10 McDonald's hamburgers, that sort of thing. Speed over volume.

I drank a glass of water with a ton of salt and pepper poured into it when I was in high school. I eat so damn slow that I'd never try the steak thing, though.

When I was 13, I ate 6 x 1.25 pound lobsters. Soft shell, so there was less meat. But I also had corn on the cob and blueberry pie. Thing is, what I remember most on that day was losing one of my sneakers.

I took part in a Wing Bowl about a year ago or so. I came in fourth place.

Out of four people.
