Over at www.newsarama.com .And he would not name the new creative team for Volume #3 of the Ultimates, but he said that it is a creative team that you would never expect.

I'm really hoping it's not Loeb writing the next volume.

Heh the Loeb/Madureira team up is what I'm hearing rumored so far. Joe Mad owns my balls but it'll be really odd to see his more cartoony japanese styled art on a realistic book with all these functional designs.

Loeb writing it would be another oddity too but I guess it could work if the book continues it's direction of the Ultimates separating from S.H.I.E.L.D./government.

I'll have to drop the book then because they're won't be any meat to it anymore. As mentioned in the interview, the Ultiamtes is a big cash cow, but if they change the creative team and the tone of the series, said cow will be ripe for slaughter.

I'd love to see Andy Diggle on it. Or Garth Ennis. Or Priest.

Jeph Loeb? Puh-leeze...

Author: Vince Flynn (Term Limits, Executive Power)
Artist: Stephen PLatt
Inker: Batt

thats the team i would love to see
Flynn does political action thrillers better than Tom Clancy (IMO)
and i still love Splatt's Art
and Batt is one of the best inkers for Splatt's style of art

You beat me to it. I was actually going to say Alan Moore and Fred Hemmbeck. Nobody would ever expect that team to work together on anything.

Yes. And then he used it to buy drugs and gave them to little kids.

i have only been following ultimates in trades, and to be honest i do not forsee myself buying anything after millar/hitch leave.
that being said, it will probably be loeb/madureira. both announcements seemed a little too timely.

They're actually going through with a Vol. 3 with different personnel? To me, that just screams "BAD IDEA!". Sure, they'll make some more money, but unless the new team is some top notch fan favorites (and maybe even then), it's going to dwindle quickly.

I feel the same way about the recent tries at continuing Top 10 over at ABC. It's proving to be a pale shadow of the original.

I'd love it if it was... oh... Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if it was Ellis and Quitely?
