Young Avengers #6 Preview (http://www.buzzscope.com/reviews.php?id=4821)
Looks good, but the time travel part of the story is starting to bother me. How can everything else change but not the Young Avengers? I can suspend my disbelief for some things, but I do hope there is at least some minor discussion as to why the YA's are out of the timestream.

I was thinking the same thing, I was re-reading Young Avengers #4, but it could be too do with some funky plot device with Iron Lads armour maybe.

Maybe because they're the ones that altered time, or it's taking longer for them to disappear for some reason.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I want Iron Lad to stay, goddamn it all to hell!! We've barely gotten to know him and he's already gotta leave? SO not fair! Why can't Kang use that Forever Crystal to split himself into two people like how he split the original Human Torch? This story is going against all the known laws of time travel within the 616 MU and it is REALLY starting to piss me off!
So..the Avengers woulda died if they never fought Kang? WTF?

Perhaps the "Vision" will be nothing more then senient armor used to protect Iron Lad from the timestream. Just a guess.

So..the Avengers woulda died if they never fought Kang? WTF?
The two things are not necessarily directly related. By removing Kang, they've affected all sorts of things in history, even things that don't seem connected.
For example, suppose some civilian was killed in a fight between Kang and the Avengers. Since there is now no Kang, that person lives--which means every single day from that point on, new changes are being made in history, because that person wasn't supposed to be alive. Every single thing he does creates a new change in history...which affects other people, and causes other changes in their lives, etc, etc.
Timeline changes are rarely limited to a single person or event--they ripple outward and affect everything.
How can everything else change but not the Young Avengers?
This often happens in time travel stories--the people directly involved in the change are often the last to be affected (or sometimes remain completely unaffected)

I'm hoping there will be an Iron Man like character somewhere down the line after all the Kang stuff. I wish he hung around too but it just wasn't meant to be.

I believe the reknown physics scientist and time travel expert Dr. Emmet Brown explained this phenomenon as the product of the travelers being outside of the timestream itself when the changes took place, and thus not subject to it's effects.

its about time it came out! i may have to reread the last one b/c its been so long since ive seen one lol. Nah, im pumped, although i dont see how iron lad will be able to die yet the marvel univere will not change. Also, its too obvious its him, hes all they've hinted at and it would be a shock if it was him.
Edit: Yeah i supposed the Back to the Future time travel loophole would work to explain if he died

I don't think we find out till next arc, maybe the one after that though...
I like the idea that Asgardian is one of Loki's many kids but now he seems to have magic powers not the powers of a God, I doubt it.

I read a preview copy of YA 6 in a local shop... I put this info in another YA thread, but figured it was equally relevant here...
Firstly, Asgardian and Wiccan are one and the same. The reason he was called Asgardian in 9's solicits, and Wiccan in 10's, (as near as I can tell, is simply because of the intended release date of issue 6 being before the solicits for 10 were made public, but after issue 9's). Also, I'm not sure how this will work, since Cassie's name was Titan in a solicit for She-Hulk coming up, but is Stature in issue 6. Hulkling is still Hulkling, Patriot still Patriot as near as I can tell, and Kate unnamed, but I'll leave the rest of the spoilers for the comic.
It was a great issue, I highly recommend it. I am really looking forward to the upcoming issues as well.

My theory is that Hulkling is half Skrull. Think about it, green skin, shape shifting; all he needs is the little ridges on his chin and he would have the full set of characteristics. That would tie him to the Avengers considering the amount of times the two sides have fought.

But hang about, the only people who left the timestream were Young/ Adult Kang
Everyone else should've been effected, because they never left the timestream. This is unlike in BTTF 2 (where the timeline was diverged).
Doc, Marty and Jennifer were all outside the timestream when things skewed, that's why they weren't effected. Unlike the Young Avengers

Well, the rules are you're not supposed to start a thread until the day the issue is released. Preview discussions are fine, such as this one... since everyone can read the pages posted online. All other discussion is supposed to go in the 'Avengers Spoilers Thread' that's around here somewhere.

That joke rocked. Hawkingbird rocked! Kightress, what the hell is that supposed to mean? It's so generic. Sounds like a City of Heroes character name.
Hawkingbird is a name that would have a tie to the Avengers, and it just sounds neat. Knightress sounds dull.

Technically, it never happened. Jessica Jones was "retconned" into being a superhero in the Alias series. Of course, her superhero career was completely unremarkable, so it doesn't effect anyone elses continuity. First, she was Jewel, but quit after the Purple Man took control of her. Sometime after that she called herself Knightress, but that lasted less time than her career as Jewel. There isn't even a flashback of her time as Knightress like there is for Jewel, so far it's only been mentioned in Young Avengers and (I think) the later issues of Alias.

Actually, it's an early issue of Alias, Jonah brings it up when he hires her to unmask Spidey. (She ends up making up leads and doing charity work, charging the donations to the Bugle)

Iron Lad learns that he has to go back to the future to save the timeline. Iron Lad has to become Kang. He really doesn't want to but they cannot think of another way. And when Asguardian and Hulkling disappear into the timeline, they realized they have no options left. Iron Lad activates the Vision program in his armor and has Vision send him back (he can't take the armor with him because that would also damage the timeline.) He said that when he returns he will never remember being Iron Lad or remember the Young Avengers.
Captain America, Iron Man, Vision and Jessica Jones tell the Young Avengers they are going to have to shut down. Yes, the were impressive against Kang but they are still kids. If they don't shut down the Avengers will let their parents know what is going on (what a wussy threat.) THey make the Young Avengers turn in their equipment and thell them that if any of them ever wore their uniforms again the Avengers would be there to stop them.
Several weeks later they are having lunch in Washington Square. Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang have been talking and decided they want to reform the Young Avengers. Kate found a warehouse that her father no longer uses and has forgotten he ever had, and she wants to convert that into their HQ or as she has called it Lair. They take a vote and decide that Asguardian is bad name and force him to change it. Of all the suggestions they gave, Wiccan was the name he hated the least.
Kate also has friends who are fasion designers and she had them design new costumes for the Young Avengers. They decide to reform the group, and when the Avengers find out, well....they never let anything stop them before.
It was an epilogue. It had little to now action in it but it had some nice character moments. Kang's leaving for the future was especially well done if a little short. It was basically setting up the team's future.

Ugh, Captain America is such a dick. He pulled this same crap with the New Warriors when they first started out. Why won't he just train them already? He should know that the best way to get a teenager to do something is to tell him/her NOT to do it!
As I said b4, that is a dumb code name for the former Asgardian. He should be called Magus or Magik III( :D )
Why is Hulkling blonde now?? That's lame. Guess Wiccan has a thing for blondes(hell, so do I...just of the feminine variety ;) )

I liked the book, Im a little sad because iron Lad was my favorite character and now he's gone.
I think they exaggerated the fact that captain Amer. and Iron Man could just call the YA's parents when they still have no idea hwo these kids are.
The hwole time travel thing was really confusing what exactly is the reason that because Kang was no more all of the Avengers died, how does Kang really affect that many lives.
