Which Sin City graphic novel did you think was the best?

I say the first, gritty original, the Hard Goodbye epic Marv saga. A great assortment of characters and a brilliant kick-start to the series.

What was the name of the original story? Where Marv dies? I have theoriginal graphic novel and it doesn't have a title on it... just Sin City.

That Yellow Bastard is by far my favorite Sin City book. Hartigan and Nancy are two great characters, and Miller's art was never better (the following books were far too experimental, IMO).

It was retitled The Hard Goodbye.

It was retitled The Hard Goodbye.
Thanks!

That's the one I voted for.

Loved Marv, his simplicity, his desire to do the right thing and his internal monologue was great!

It's hard to choose between The Hard Goodbye or A Dame To Kill For.

The Hard Goodbye for me. I like A Dame to Kill for a lot too.

Some people I know say A Dame To Kill For got Boring.
Big Fat Kill was pretty good too.
Hell and Back was crap.

I rather like Hell and Back.

I voted for 'The Hard Goodbye' (still feels weird calling it that) straight away, but, I liked Family Values too. It was a fun romp and not meant to be anything more - a great addition to the mythos when it came out.

Family Values was good, but a bit plotless and short. Best thing about it was that we got to see Miho in action.... for the entire book. :evilsmile

But Hard Goodbye was the best. Definitely.

That Yellow Bastard, many of the short stories that make up Booze Broads & Bullets and Hell & Back all make use of color.

Some people think it's pretty good, I'm not that bothered with it.
Others say the three Dwight "asstitutes" stories were the weakest of the bunch. I disagree.

I am a Dwight Fan and love his stories but I gotta go with Marv's first tale as the best. :)

Reading A Dame To Kill For, I think it will make an awesome sequel to Sin City when it comes out. At first i wondered why they skipped it in the 1st movie but i thibk it will go quite well as a past telling.

I would probably say The Hard Goodbye but I also liked Booze, Broads and Bullets was very cool as well. I liked the short stories, nice quick, fun reads.

What is it with Frank Miller and Spartans? I think he loves those guys. A spartan appears in Hell and Back (armed with a machine gun no less) and also Big Fat Kill. He also had that "The 300".

My favourites are A Dame to Kill For and That Yellow Bastard. My least favourite is The Big Fat Kill. I thought the story didn't really need 5 issues to tell. It translated really well onto the big screen though.

I can't wait for A Dame to Kill For in Sin City 2.

I recently re read Hell and Back and I must say I enjoyed it much more on the second reading. I didn't like it the first time.
I really like Wallace's character.
