I recently saw the Battle nexus episodes of TMNT again. Now when I first saw Usagi, I knew he had to be in other things, or be connected with this world somehow, then I thought he might be connected to the TMNT comics. Then didnt give him to much thought, untill that is I saw a calender poster at Half-Price books which displayed him fighting and stuff. I think he looks cool, but where can I find stories about him?

Usagi Yojimbo is published by Dark Horse. Check out Stan Sakai's site for info and where to buy.

If you like, I highly recomend this book.

Its very well-written, with a lot of deep characterisation and fantastic art too.

Trust me, you'll get hooked in no time. :)

If you get a chance, watch the "Real World part 1" episode of TMNT to get a better idea of what the Usagi Yojimbo series is like.

In "The Real World" episode, Leonardo gets sent to the world were Usagi lives. While there he quickly runs into Usagi (who he has met previously) and then gets to meet and interact briefly with a number of the recurring characters from the Usagi Yojimbo comic book.

While some die hard Usagi fans have their personal "little" gripes about this episode, it is still the nearest to having his own cartoon series Usagi has ever gotten. AND it can give a general idea of who's who and what's when, etc...

The one thing it can't give a realistic indication of is the amount of hard work, research, time, and love that Stan Sakai puts into each and every issue of Usagi Yojimbo that he creates.

IF you like great comics, give Usagi Yojimbo a try...

It also has a really cool cast of recurring characters who did not appear in "The Real World".

Abayo
