I didn't read the original series, but I picked this up b/c I heard it would recap and tell me what I missed in the original. I have to say this issue I really liked. The scene towards the end w/ Kitty and Malcom was great, that look on her face was priceless. What did everyone think of this ?

how was colossus powerless and still steeled up? i don't think sears is trying, his stuff on the first was amazing. this looks more andy smith-esque

I have decided to drop this series.

In one swift move, Frank Tieri got rid of the two most interesting elements of this story: Malcolm Concord's hallucinations, and the promise of a DoFP prequel. Seeing as how all the X-Men are dead, this is no longer possible.

And if Tieri goes back and says that Kitty Pryde survived a gunshot to the head and the subsequent Sentinel massacre, well, this book is even worse than I thought. So no, this book is not connected to DoFP, no matter what further developments come to light.

The only thing remotely interesting about this book is the mystery of who Concord was talking to in the beginning, and that can easily be found out online when the next issue comes out.

I need to cut back on my comic spendings, and this book makes it easy.

I just thought it was cool how he shot kitty in the head.

Indeed.

Plus, we the readers are to believe that Concord did what no other enemy has ever been able to do in capturing and then killing all the X-Men, without us even seeing how it was done? Ho-kay. That's sloppy.

It sucked. Like most of Tieri's work, it feels more like glorified fanfiction than anything else. And I rather liked Weapon X even.

Yea I know it was pretty unbelieveable that he could capture them like that w/ a Sentinel squad and Sauron and Mesmero when they have Xavier and Emma, along with Racheal and Betsy, you would think one of them would be able to see through the illusion.

I'm just pissed this story has nothing to do with the end of the Weapon X story. No continuing adventures of Fantomex and Chamber. No Sublime with Sinister's help, just random glimpses of that story and then DOFP stuff.

betsy and ray aren't there, in facto, a bunch of X aren't there, damn there ARE too many x-people...
anyways there are a bunch more out there to exact revenge.
i never read the original so i don't know what was left hanging and needs clearing up, except the cecelia reyes is alive thing.

Ok, I didn't read this at all.

But I heard Emma gets her head blown off?

I will pick it up tomorrow.

Yeah. This was pretty bad. The story didn't make a whole lot of sense (at least not yet) and it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. The art was really bad. I generally don't dislike Sears, but this just seemed sloppy and rushed.

The execution of Kitty was . . . heart wrenching, so that was nice (that sounds sick when I say that, but it was handled nicely).

But by far the worst part was the GIGANTIC close up of Wolverine's crotch on page 10.

Come on.
