What specifically are Lobo's powers?

Damn strong, huge regen. Mean as hell. I'm pretty sure he's very strong willed as well.

When he first appeared they said every drop of blood of his spilled would turn into a new Lobo. I think they retconned that out reeaaal quick.

Ok, so he's not invulnerable, but he regens so that he may as well be invulnerable, sort of like the hulk.

He doesn't have any flight or vision powers though, does he?

Just pure strength?

It wasn't a retcon, they took care of that plot point in-story.

In the early issues of L.E.G.I.O.N., Vril Dox used an army of Lobo clones (borne from his blood) to fight off an attacking army. He then double-crossed Lobo by killing all of the clones, and then poisoning Lobo so that he couldn't create any new ones.

Years later in the Lobo series, one of the clones who'd escaped the massacre popped up again as an adversary. He retained the ability to grow new Lobo's from his blood, but the real 'Bo killed him before he could create any.

Of course, that didn't stop Young Justice and Slobo ...

I dropped YJ around the time Slobo appeared (because I can't even type his name to this day without feeling like a special needs student). But if I recall correctly, when Lobo was de-aged, his body reverted to a time before he was poisoned, meaning his blood-clone ability remained intact.

Well, he's got a flying motorcycle.

I've decided that Lobo is basically the Hulk with an attitude.

I've decided that Lobo is basically the Hulk with an attitude. That's a pretty safe assumption. Just include "can live in the depths of space without problem" and "uses huge guns" and "can make an army of clones with his blood." I, for one, amd glad they've avoided using him since the Young Justice series; I never liked him that much and always felt he was a one-note character.

Lobo is pretty one dimensional, but everytime he appears he's definately a blast. Always something chaotic going on. I liked him in L.E.G.I.O.N.. Vril Dox and Lobo relationship was funny.

Lobo is supposed to be one-dimensional. That's the fun of him. :) He's like a living, breathing, running gag. His multiple slugfests with Superman were joyously goofy, and his role in L.E.G.I.O.N. was as much comic relief as strong man.

That's why PAD's attempt to give him some depth in YJ was so thoroughly wrong-headed. Slobo ended up with becoming only barely-dimensional, and unfunny to boot.

Or to put in another way: Slobo was a Wolverine ripoff, whereas Lobo is a Wolverine parody, if that makes any sense. ;)

The first time I ever saw him, in was in one of the 1980's JLI issues. He basically whiped the floor with the lot of them. I even liked when he said it was going to be shame to have to kill J'Onn, as he was the last Green Martian. I also like what his name means, or did at the time.

Martian Manhunter: Lobo, is means "wolf", right?
G'Nort: No, its actually Kundian for "He who rips your guts out, and thoughly enjoys himself.".

(Or words to that effect.)

Lobo also has the ability to find anyone he's ever met whereever they are in the universe

Lobo: Enough strength to trade blows with Superman, practically immortal due to crazy regeneration rate, has an "aura sense" that allows him to track anyone anywhere, indomitable will, big guns and a space bike. That's about it.

Oh, and doesn't break his word for any reason. He's got a rep to uphold.

Lobo = Beer Drinking, Women Chasing, Butt Kicking, Biker Dude from Outer Space. Nuff Said

Add "Kicked Superman's ass" and that's perfect.

This about sums it up. And like others have said he drinks like a fish, smokes like a chimney, curses like a sailor, and f<cks women like Ron Jeremy. This is why he is on my top 5 favorite DC characters list :D . But I wish there was a Lobo ongoing right now :( .

Back in the early 90s he had the power of Super Sell Comic Books Like Hotcakes. He lost that power around the time they gave him an ongoing.

I never got into Lobo much I saw a few appearances in the Superman books, never paid attention to the ongoing. Visually i thought he was kinda badass looking. Anyway the single best issue I have ever read was the Lobo VS. Hitman 1 shot. that was great stuff kids.

That doesn't really count towards Lobo, that was more of Tommy (Hitman) punking Lobo because he was soo much smarter. It always gets on my nerves when Lobo is portrayed as being stupid. I mean, this is a guy who created a super plague to kill all the other Czarnians, and managed to make himself immune.

Yeah, but it's an Ennis book, so you forgive it. Just like he turned Wolverine and Spidey and the rest into idiots over in Punisher. Good for a laugh, not necessarily canon. ;)

Yet somehow Wolverine beat him in the Marvel vs. DC comics - even the writer couldn't figure out how to do it, so the defeat happened off-panel. IF Wolverine could even muster up enough strength to cut him, Lobo could just heal instantly and toss him into the sun. That match was rigged, I tell you (technically it was - it was a vote-in).
