I'm giving it a try due to how good everyone says PAD is... too be honest I'm more hyped about his Spider-Man series.

I expect the least from this title (out of all the new ones coming out that I'm trying) but I'll give it a shot.

This will fill it quite nicely.

I'm more excited for this book than anything right now.

Finally, someone's come to give the X-books an edge again. I mean, I love AXM and all, but the X-books have seemed cluttered and random ever since you-know-who left you-know-what.

Madrox was awesome. Add a bigger cast, and it'll make a GREAT (sorta)-core X-book. Yay for Peter David and his awesomeness!

I am bringing back "Fallen Angel." IDW will be publishing the new and continuing adventures of "Fallen Angel" starting in December, with art by JK Woodward.

In case you didn't know I thought I'd post a quote from the man himself.

http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=73583&page=8&pp=15

A bit down the page is a drawing of Lee by Woodward, I'd have posted the image but I don't know how :(

For me it comes up like this:

Good - Peter David and the cast of charcters he is using
Bad - Ryan Sook is one of my least favorite artists working right now

It is all going to come down to if I can really get into the book when the art is so much not to my tastes. It is definalty geting a chance.

I'll read it. Loved his All New All Different X-Factor run. I know the series has a different focus but I'll give it at least the first year, but I"m really expecting grand things out of this.

I like X-Factor, don't get me wrong, but this just sounds like District X with an all new cast. I loved the last 20 issues of the original X-Factor the stuff with baby Nathan and I loved the All New All Different X-Factor. But to me the whole crime fighting investigating thing is just not my cup of tea in comics.

xmanson
08-22-2005, 05:49 PM
Despite the non-gay Rictor crap, I'll read it. I'm not expecting anything similar to the previous run, what is selling is David's talent. He rarely disappoints.

fishtaco
08-22-2005, 07:43 PM
The best way to start off the first issue would be a full page. Guido's face is in the "camera", and his hand is extended out towards it. He asks, "Excuse me. Do you have any grey poupon?"

Seriously. It's kind of like how Astonishing X-Men started out with Kitty and the memories. Fun nostalic moment.

I may try to add this as a monthly title, and not just go TPB only. Given I only do that for Astonishing right now, I think that illustrates how excited I am about this.

I wonder if the Marvel research dept. is scouring the internet looking for threads like this to see how the more hardcore fans are reacting. If they are... Hi there! More regular (non-Ultimate) Colossus, please! Oh, and be nice to Peter David, he writes good stuff!

I'm not a real big DC fan but yea it's kinda like that for me. I like the characters and I might give it a shot, it'll be a buy time decision for me, if I'm standing infront of it and I don't have too much in my hand than more than likely I'll give it a run, I like giving new titles an arc to see how it goes so maybe. I doubt it though, that sounds like a busy month.

I really hope that some sort of gay romance goes on between Madrox and Rictor since all most the entier Madrox mini-series was a spring board for Madrox to come out and what better use for Rictor than a really bizzar love paralellogram?

pros:
jaime
Guido
Rahne
Syrin
Monet
Rictor
peter, freaking david
Ryan Sook

cons:
I don't really get into superhero investigations
I'm already at the top of my comic budget

looks like the pros win. just like with New Excalibur, I'm in for the first arc at least. Now if we could only lose rictor and add alex, then mybe replace Syrin with Lorna, and maybe eventually Pietro replaces Monet....now that would be an awesome X-factor book. I know, we've soon it all before, but it was sooo much fun.

i think he/she means not in spandex uniforms. spandex generally means super-heroes. i think and like that "super-heroes" can wear "normal" clothing and still be "super-heroes". i mean, is saving someone's life defined by what the hero is wearing? it is all obviously based upon what the reader wants, and i think most readers of x-factor want a book in the vein of madrox/street-level stuff going on. that's what i'd like from the book.

You know one thing just struck me as odd. Looking at the team you can see why most of them would be there. Jamie, Guido, and Rahne are all friends form the X-Factor days. Jamie and Siryn are friends from way back. Rictor, Rahne, and Siryn are friends from the old New Mutants/X-Force days. And then you have Monet. She really has no ties whatsoever to any of the other members as far as I can think of. I am wondering if there is a reason for that and PAD will use it in the storyline, or if he just threw her in for the heck of it. I hope there is a real reason for her to be there like maybe she helps finace he operation or something.

Monet was a member of X-Corporation Paris with Siryn, Rictor and Jamie. It was mostly off panel, but she has spent some time with these characters.
