Last night, August 20th, was the final night of Iron Maiden being on Ozzfest. Apparently there has been rising tension between the Maiden and Osbourne camps. Last night it came to a head when Bruce Dickinson went off after the band was pelted with eggs that somehow managed to get past security and when the power went out 3 or 4 times during Maiden's set.

Let's see now. Iron Maiden is a metal legend. Ozzy Osbourne, thanks to his POS wife has been turned from The Prince of Darkness to a pathetic doddering barely alive shell of a human being who will spend the rest of his decomposing life as a veritable punchline. Who should we believe?

Maiden stepped up to cover for Black Sabbath since Ozzy can't do back to back nights (this assumes he can actually still sing at all anymore, which I doubt)

Yet Bruce somehow is disrespecting Ozzfest?

What is turning Ozzfest into an object worthy of disrespect is the fact that their headliner is always cancelling out scheduled performances.

Just remember: Maiden rules, Ozzy drools....

This has been going on since the begining of the tour. When I saw them in NJ last month Bruce had already started his rant agianst ozzy/sharon.
I think its all about egos. Sharon expects everyone to bow down & kiss her ass. Its HER show with ozzy headlining & all else should fall in line.
Bruce on the other hand has his own ego, & not wanting to bow down to sharon & her non-sence because he knows that Maiden can (and should) be headlining. After all, most of the people there are there to see Maiden anyhow.
Now that ozzy's done, hopefully they're both just go away. Maybe it'll lead to a Black Sabbath reunion with Dio/Gillian.

Bruce at the DC show was happy to be touring with Ozzy but said he wishes circumstances were different. That was only a brief statement.

His biggest rant was about the material he was playing. He really wanted to play a lot of newer stuff and the fans were actually cheering him when he said it.

I've heard Number of the Beast 800 times and though I loved it to pieces live, I wanted to see newer material too.

Yes Ozzfest is all about egos. I talked to some guys that worked with the show and they swear it should be changed to BiggestSausageFest.

I agree. Ozzfest I think is doomed..people are getting really sick of Sharon and her BS!

It's too bad that Ozzy can't sing every night. I saw Ozzfest in Buffalo this year, and Sabbath were incredible, including Ozzy.

I'm not even a huge Maiden fan, but they deserve utmost respect for helping to hold the tour together.

I don't think Ozzie really had no clue this was going down. I see him as someone who respects fellow muscians in a way. Odds are Sharon,the kids and the others did this without his knowing and its hitting the fan.

I liked Zakk's guitar work. But never really got into BLS. And Ozzy still gets my respect. It wasn't him pulling this shit. Its just his name sadly on the event that gives it a black eye.

I had no problem with him waving the British flag. In fact when he came out with it, he got a lot of cheers.

This whole event just makes my stomach turn. Dickinson's opinion about Ozzy dosen't matter. Sharon's opinion about anyone dosen't matter at all.

Pretty much everyone has denied involvement. Bottom line, it's Sharon. She dosen't need to profit from a venue that is going to berate one of the biggest pioneers in metal outside of Sabbath themselves. Again, I'm sure that there were alot that happened behind the scenes that noone will ever know about. I'm sure both parties are wrong to some degree. The bottom line is, you DONT do what sharon had done to Maiden. Its unprofessional, unethical and ultimately hurt the fans the most.
Sharon is an egomaniac. She now proves that she is off her rocker as well. At least we wont have to listen to her much longer.

More or less Sharon couldn't take someone shooting barbs and decided...." Hey lets fuck the fans over , egg Iron Maiden and maybe cut the sound. "

Then proclaim how rightous we are in protecting Ozzfest. No that doesn't work. You have personal beefs with bands you do it behind the doors and talk it out. They had 20 shows to sit down with Maiden and talk this over but Sharon and Ozzy chose not to.

In the end they got the egg as fans walked out after Maiden blew the fans away. I love how she's spinning that everyone was mad at Maiden. Wow...really....for what ? Playing a shitload of songs on a Concert Tour ? Ill be damned....

Well Sharon and Kelly will be presenting at the Kodak Theatre and in Hollywood at an Awards show. If there were still angry Maiden fans I'd think they'd show up and wait and egg thier cars,them and send a pretty clear message on what they think.

Funny, I've always felt that Ozzy's solo stuff was mediocre and has been spiraling downward ever since he started depending on synthesizers rather than guitars, meanwhile Dickinson's solo stuff ranges from good to stellar. But then again Sharon obviously knows shit about metal given the acts that generally get on the Ozzfest platform.

No More Tears and Ozzmosis rocked. In fact I think No More Tears is his best work, and Ozzmosis ranks up there too. Why no love for Ozzmosis? The keyboard heavy songs were weak, but Tomorrow, Thunder Underground, and My Jeckyll Doesn't Hyde kick ass, and Old LA Tonight and See You on the Other Side are fantastic rock ballads.

His last one was pure crap, but I think his worst albums were with Jake E Lee. A few good songs, but mostly just garbage. I haven't listened to Bark at the Moon or Ultimate Sin in years, but I pop in the Rhodes or Wylde stuff all the time.

I think Sharon and Ozzy are embaressing themselves with this whole mess, and obviously insane, but I think it's unfair to bring the actual music into this. Hell, I thought Dance of Death was almost as bad as Down to Earth, and Bruce's last solo album, while decent, disapointed me as well.
