3. Brand New - The Quiet Things that No One Ever Knows

Oh...I like the Decemberists. Good choice.

Seeing them in concert very shortly, in fact. Very excited about that.

1. The Fairport Convention "Genesis Hall"

Sandy Denny is one of my favorite vocalists of all time. If she was still alive today she'd be totally on a Lord of the Rings movie soundtrack. Richard Thompson is doing some interesting guitar work on this track too (he also wrote the song).

2. Genesis "Cinema Show"

Laugh all you want. But this song captures the Genesis at their most melodic while retaining those wonderful weird Peter Gabriel moments. And Steve Hacketts guitar blends really well with Tony Banks synthesizer (which isn't as overbearing as it usually gets).

3. Q and Not U "The Animals Call"

A fun crazy punk freak out. I like the absurd lyrics.

4. Neil Young "Cortez the Killer"

Cause Neil Young rocks like a mother fucker.

5. Thin Lizzy "Jailbreak"

A good song to play before some wild shit is about to go down. Like if I'm going to clean the bathroom or reorganize the bookshelf.
