I just re-read Rucka's run on Wolverine, when I read the first time around I thought it was very slow and boring. Reading it all in one setting made a huge difference it was alot better. The only thing I wish he would have done was go up against a tougher foe and maybe if Rucka would have stayed on longer we would have seen that. But overall I thought it was very different than what I was used to in a Wolverine comic and a nice change of pace from the norm. Has anyone esle's opinion changed on it after a second reading and what did you think of it as a overall story.

Loved it all. Only Wolverine I've ever really read though, aside from Origin.

Rucka's a great writer, and his version of Logan was a much more interesting character than the super-heroey crap that the character so often finds himself involved in.

Wolverine's my all-time favorite Marvel character. Yep, I loved it. :D

Rucka wrote Wolverine as if he were Batman :( . Wolverine, the world's greatest detective. Rucka's Wolverine, is the worse I have ever read(and I read Austen's version as well).

See, to me, he wrote Wolverine as a Samurai without a master, which is sorta how I liked seeing him interpreted.

Different strokes, n' all that.

I probably should reread it before I comment, but looking back, it was a tad disappointing in that they wrote Wolverine as though the last 30 years hadn't happened. He seemed more like I imagine he was just prior to Weapon X snatching him. It seemed to disregard the many years he's spent growing and refining himself.

He seemed somehow smaller. (and definitely in one of his uglier forms)

i enjoyed the first 2 arcs. "the native" was very boring for me. that being said, rucka/robertson's first wolverine issue remains one of my top issues of all time. i really, really enjoyed it.

I loved the first arc. I was so tired of the usual Wolverine vs. Supervillain battles that a big shakeup was just what I thought the book needed. The second arc was okay, not as good as the first. But I thought "The Return of the Native" was horrible.

By then, I had kinda missed big action spectacle-Wolverine so I was glad that Millar got the book, and I haven't been disappointed yet.

I dropped it after Coyote Crossing.

Talk about the ultimate meh. Millar's run is far more entertaining and enjoyable.

What detective work did he do then? I can't remember Wolverine playing Batman at all.

i guess he's referring to logan finding out who killed the girl in the first arc, making friends with the policewoman, and finding out who was responsible for the dead immigrants in the truck in the second arc. it was a little dectective-ish, but nothing too abnormal for wolverine in my opinion.

Thanks for summarizing it for me streator. So you noticed Rucka writing Wolverine like he was a detective(Batman) as well. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. But most of the Marvelites on the X-Forums have problably never read Rucka's Batman work so the did not notice the similarities ;) .

Boring, slow paced and set up to sell Marvel Trades. Rucka's run on Wolverine was the most uninspiring Wolvie stories I have ever read. Only the bar issues stands out as something that is worth getting even the Native story has all but disappeared. All we got was Wolvie killing Skinhead/Cultists, Rednecks, and Immigrant Smugglers for the first what 11 issues? I mean come on. Detective work Bah!! Power Pack could have taken these bad guys out. Robertson's pencils were wasted on these books.

NOW talk about the OMAC project and youll see a different tone. So far I am really enjoying what Ruckas has done with it. Its DC Summer not Marvel's House of M in my area is not going over well.
