Share your art of any of DC's various Supergirls, whether it's the original, the current one, Cir-El, or any other, in any of their costumes!
(This isn't an art competition...it's just to have fun...any level of skill is OK!)

That was some amazing art, you should do this professionally. A talent like that, my god, I can't even dream of the level you draw at. Amazing job.

Man, that is officially THE best Supergirl picture I have ever seen.

I am forced to mirror the folks´question, why ARE you not drawing SG?

I KNEW it looked familiar :)
She´s looking really good, well proportioned and I especially like the fact that her skirt isn´t so lasvegasshowgirlishly short.
I would have liked to see more motion on it (like the wind in her hair and her cape), but it works nighty fine as it is.

These are all great so far and I might even consider buying the ongoing if the art inside was this nice. Child, seriously, that's some impressive work. Good job on the hair and eyes. Her hands in the second pic look good too. This work here and one of the JLA covers for November actually make her costume look feasible.

Yes, I drew the Old School Supergirl. Thanks for the compliments... :o

And Darkholde, I LOVE your versions. Your work reminds me of Adam Hughes.

Eliseu, your turn...I know I've seen some amazing stuff from you!

Thanks, Rik, but to be honest............aw, man......... my stuff is old, old, old. :(

I must have shown this one a hundred times already (for a Supergirl incorrigible fanboy I don´t have much artwork on her).

I keep complaing about the new SG´s short skirt but looking back, mine is even worse....

thanks, ChildOfTheDarkholde, this is 3 or 4 years old, so a guy will inevitably spot flaws.

The unbelievably short skirt, the yellow cape..... someone once called this the "macdonald girl".

I came this close to spontaneously combust when I realised he was right.

Poor MacGirl :p

ChildOfTheDarkholde, those are two sweet SGs right there, I like the more realistic one but the cartoon one would definitelly work for me if they decided to air such a show.
And really, why not?
There´s plenty of potential for her to go solo.

don't forget all the dolls they can sell to girls..
i've always thought a superman/supergirl line of figures for boys, dolls for girls would be the way to go...
he-man did it.. why not supes?

oh wait i know.. dc is stupid and would never think of it.

I´m not really into Superman but whenever I see my nieces coveting every girl show from Cardcaptor Sakura to Kim Possible I can´t help but wonder if TPTB ever even considered the HUGE market they could tap into.

As it is, they´re just using the same formula that has been going on in comics for the past 70 years or so, of aiming at the teenage boy audience and completelly disregarding teenage girls who would welcome a representative in the morning toons.

And a Supergirl pillow :D .

That is exactly what I have always wondered about DC and Marvel...with the huge market of girls who devour Manga and all those characters and TV shows aimed at them, how come there isn't a major TV Toon centered around a superheroine?
Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman, Arana...any of those characters could very well succeed as a cartoon (Spider-Woman already had one actually, long ago......imagine what they could do with today's technology and stuff...)

Eliseu, hope you don't mind, but I quickly took out the overabundance of red and put in some navy blue instead. I left the yellow in for contrast. Now, she no longer looks like a McDonald's girl, but looks like she belongs more in the Superman family.

Here's a slightly different one with more defined lines around the body like the original picture to pull out the body from the cape.

the red boots don't work... make em blue.

Hyea, Justin,

She´s looking mighty fine, though the shade of blue seems a bit dark for her.

Maybe because she was drawn as a two-colur scheme it now feels like there´s an element missing in my design.

Maybe a red border around her "S" symbol........

Justin D.
08-21-2005, 09:29 PM
I lightened the blue quite a bit all the way around and put a red border around the S. Also, I made one with red boots and the other with blue boots.

Red Boots:

Blue boots:

http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/4014/supergirle3tg.jpg

By the way, I want it noted that I have little to no real artistic talent when it comes to drawing and I just like to goof around in Photoshop from time to time. I do think I like the red booted picture more because it makes the S pop a bit better.

Man Child, those Supergirls just scream classical illustration, great stuff and a refreshing change from the overly comic booky work we see in fan art...

I'd add a red border to the top and bottom of the revised Supergirl sketch.

Still, very cool and original.

You interested in work as a colorist? :)
