Anyone want to take a stab at who they think might be the "very special writer" on this mini?

It'll be a collaberation between Kevin Smith and Quesada. Expect it out in October, 2019.

I was hoping they would keep Ultimate Wolverine small time in the UU.....damn.

Stephen King.
I don't know if you're kidding, but that's who I think it is, too.

For no reason I'm going to throw Jeph Leob in because while he is exclusive we still don't know what he is doing for Marvel. My theory is they can't announce him as the writer because his exclusive contract at DC hasn’t expired yet.

Stephen King.
In my dreams.
Seriously.
I dream about Stephen King.
Help me.

Heh.
Looks like Wolvie cut one of Hulk's legs off.
The one-legged Hulk!

Yeah, that is not the best of Yu's work. Looks like he took a page from Liefeld, in anatomical proprtion and hidden limbs.
Don't get me wrong, though. I love Yu. His work is amazing, and I'm looking forward to his exclusive run at Marvel.
That particular pic? Not so much with the awesomeness.

It's been five years. I wouldn't be surprised if it's.....
Jeph Loeb
Warren Ellis (wrapping up Ultimate Extinction)
Peter David
Brian K. Vaughan (finishing his run of Ultimate X-Men, He may feel that he hasn't used Wolverine enough.)
David Mack (He was supposed to be the Ultimate X-Men writer post- Bendis.)
Ed Brubaker
Greg Pak
Robert Kirkman
All of the above writers could do the job well, although right now I think Ellis/ Brubaker would be the best.

Yeah, that is not the best of Yu's work.
I'll tell ya the truth, it kinda looks like his best work. :D Or at least average work of his.
Not a big Yu guy. That whole boat left the dock, and I just wasn't on it.

I'll guess a Stephen King, even though I didn't know he wrote comics, if anyone can point me to some comics he has written I'll have to check it out.

This book should be called Ultimate Six Hours, or something. I've never read Six Hours, but I know it was Hulk v Wolverine and "Ultimate Six Hours" sounds way cooler than "Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine". :D
I'm sick of bland Ultimate title names, where if you take away the "Ultimate", you don't even have a title! War. Nightmare. Secret. Extinction. Et cetera.
Hulk vs Wolverine just sounds bland.

Yeah, the term "Ultimate" is kind of poor choice anyway. The word itself means "final or definitive" and that sort of thing. Neither of which is the case for any of the Ultimate superheroes. Besides, "Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine" sounds like U-Hulk is taking on MU Wolverine. Shouldn't it be "Ultimate Hulk vs. Ultimate Wovlerine?" Heh.

As far as I'm concerned the Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine battle happened back in this issue. The way Wolvie sliced right through the Hulk's mid-section and Hulk came back right up and started pounding away at Wolvie. I think Hulk would've beat Wolvie too if it hadn't been for that Shield guy (Quartermaine?) who shot at them both and reminded them of their mission. If ya ask me, Wolvie got off lucky!

I'm gonna go with "Lost" writer and co-creator, Damon Lindelof as the mystery writer on Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine.
Because, according to Kevinroc in this thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=78721), that is what the Wizard website said ealier today .

This is problably right. And "King" does not represent Stephen King, but Alan Moore. That's right, Alan Moore is going to write a future Marvel project.

Love that issue. "Let's.... Let's try that again!" Dunno if it's the Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk battle, as grey hulk is not as strong or heals as fast as his green counterpart.
I still love Hulk #181 where Hulk knocks Wolverine out cold from a *glancing* blow. The panel where you see Wolverine's blue boots sticking up in the frame while he lies there unconscious is priceless.
I don't know why people like seeing Hulk and Wolverine go at it. I mean, Wolverine is pretty durable. But there still is no chance he could ever take down Hulk, let alone do some real damage.

I agree. It wasn't the ultimate Hulk we saw that tussled with Wolve back in 340. But it's sure one of the best, if not the best battle between the two.
