Hi, I'm trying to identify a comic series from the mid 90's, any help would be appreciated as its driving me crazy.

The comic was basically sci-fi, focusing on human (or near human) conflict with a humanoid alien race, basically a war comic I guess. It was in colour and the art was of a good quality, I'm not much of an expert on comics but from what I can remember I'd put it as some of the better art I'd seen in a series.

Perhaps one of the main things that stood out about the comic was the fact that one of the main characters (a soldier), was practically invisble, except for his lips... I really can't be more help than that but it'd be great if anyone has a name for me.

Thanks guys.

Sounds like the start of the Legion Of Superheroes Vol 4. with the war.

THe guy with only lips sounds like one of the bad guys in the early stages of the story.

Vol 4. 1-30ish were the war issues.

Could be the "Grinn" character from that godawful chunk of issues.

Hey that "god Awful" chunk of stories is what got me hooked on Legion and DC in general. I love that storyline.

So good.

See? The Legion is so great that even their worst stories bring in new readers!

Nah I don't think it was the legion, it was darker than that, despite the invisble guy it wasn't so much a super hero story as a scifi war one... the art makes me think it was an image or vertigo publication but I really cant seem to get a name .

Giffen's run on Legion Vol. 4 was more sci-fi war story than superhero stuff, so it's still possible this is what you're remembering. Indeed, I think the only thing "superhero" about that entire run of issues is that many of the character had powers.
