SHOWCASE PRESENTS: JONAH HEX VOL. 1 TP
Written by John Albano & Michael Fleischer
Art by Tony DeZuniga, Doug Wildey, José Luís Garcia-López and others
Cover by Luis Dominguez
Witness the earliest adventures of DC's legendary gunslinger from ALL-STAR WESTERN #2-8 and #10-11, WEIRD WESTERN TALES #12-14 and #16-33! Jonah Hex had no friends, but he did have two companions: death, and the acrid smell of gunsmoke!
On sale Nov 2 o 528 pg, B&W $16.99 US
Hurray! I was worried when I didn't see a Showcase Presents volume announced for November on the DC Comics site's Nov/Dec trades. I'll be there when the store opens for this puppy!
Hurray for another Y: The Last Man trade too!

Yeah, the Jonah Hex showcase excites me to no end. That's 30 issues for $16.99! DC may even drop the price to $9.99 like they did for October's solicits. Hex is one of my favorite characters and I was trying to complete my run of his series, but roughly three more showcases like this one and DC will collect all of the Jonah Hex stories.
The IC stuff does look interesting as do a few other things. Still, I'm pissed that Breach is cancelled.

So, now that the new DP is cancelled, any guesses as to whther or not the reboot will stick?
Quite a bit of fun stuff this month.
Jonah Hex (with a volume of Showcase too!)
Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein and Bulleteer (both sound fun)
More Plastic Man!
Legion trade! (Yay!)
JSA: Classified (finally, a good story)
Manhunter (it's great that Marc's still using Chase and now he's bringing in Director Bones! Yay! He sure can write a good Cameron Chase.)
EDIT: Action Comics also looks really fun this month (and blissfully Infinite Crisis free).
EDIT Again: And I keep forgetting All-Star Superman - Possibly the best Superman story ever!
And that's about it for fun stories.
I'll also be buying Infinite Crisis. That's just so I can keep up with what's going on until One Year Later (which I have subtitled "Bringing the fun back to the DCU"... hopefully).
A lot of interesting DC stuff in November besides what i normally get I'll pick up Jonah Hex,Action Comics,All Star Superman, and the Green Lantern issue just because Ollie is in it.

Other than the JLA issues that introduced the new team, has Byrne's DP been referenced in any other DC comics?

I have to wonder what's going on with Supergirl; is this "outer space" trip going to play out in her regular title? Not sure if I'm going to read it if it does.

Even if it does intrude on the solo title, it shouldn't last all that long. We're jumping forward a year pretty soon, after all.

I dunno, but it appears that Firestorm is going too.

For me it's:
I Can't Believe it's not the Justice League
Ocean
Y vol 5
and possibly
The Omac Project
Day of Vengeance
According to the solicits, Day of Vengeance spins out of The Omac Project, which is fine, but The Omac Project spins out of Identity Crisis. Well I'd be a lot more tempted to pick them up if Identity Crisis was actually out in TPB yet!! Sometimes they really don't think these things through

About Jim Lee's covers to IC, it looks to me like they just cut out these pictures of characters and put them on a different background. GP's cover give you a much better feel for the story and look like he actually took his time and made a good, quality cover. Not blasting Jim or anything (infact I'm a fan of his)
