What happened to the Silver Surfer series? And is it just me or is the Invincible Ironman series taking forever to put issues out? Seems like I have been reading this 6 isssue arc for a long time. Thanks.

The last Surfer series was cancelled. A new Surfer mini written by JMS and painted by Esad Ribic (who did the House of M covers) will be released in the future.

Iron Man's running very late. Blame the artist.

So it was cancelled. What caused the cancellation? What makes them feel that they can fix the problem with the last series and prevent cancellation?

I really enjoy the look of the Ironman comic and the art seems to be worth the wait. Am I the only one that thinks this way? I am not very excited about the story but love the art.

thanks

Low sales, and general lack of interest.

Well, for starters, the next Silver Surfer project is a miniseries, and therefore doesn't have to worry about cancellation.

Also, a change in creative team can generate more interest, if the writer or artist (or both) are particularily popular.
And a chance in direction/storyline could also do the trick. The majority of fan response I saw was not very happy with the direction they were taking the Surfer in the last series.

I don't think the artist (or the writer) are going to be around much longer. I believe Marvel announced that a new creative team will be taking over once the current arc is done (although, at the rate the book is coming out, that could still be a year away).
