See, this is where I get into trouble. I have several rather pointed observations to make regarding how "sexy" the majority of those "chix" actually are. And yet, though each of them presumably agreed to have their picture put on a cover titled "Sexy Chix", I'M the one who would be demonized if I were to point out that even tilting an ugly face in just the right way and a liberal use of shadow and making sure no one can see the rest of their figures does not constitute "sexy". No, I think I'll just stay out of this one!

There's probably a reference I'm not getting 'cause the third wave feminism "girl power" tag is a bit dated, I think. It's kindof like, "If you think these lovely ladies are hot, wait 'til you see their prose fiction... Rrworrr."

I admit, it would be kinda funny to put, say, Mark Waid, Brad Meltzer and Grant Morrison on a similar publication.

Not saying anything disparaging about their looks (or any of the ladies on the cover of the Dark Horse TPB) but they're average guys, all in all.

That said, I've seen Mark Waid charm a lady or two and the sequential tarts would send themselves FedEx to Edinborough if Grant and Kristen ever split.

So in either case, it's not DENYING the magnetism that creative people have there but it IS a bit odd to sell it as, "Ooh. Writers. Foxy!"

Especially since all books are written by authors. And all comics are drawn by cartoonists of some caliber.

Eh. Anyway, good for the women in this anthology.

But I fear, FEAR, FEAR if this catches on and Spidey variant covers feature Jeph Loeb and Joe Mad lounging on the beach in hotpants.

That is how I thought the title meant. I mean none of the women on that cover are models or as Gail put it, foxxy. These women have other qualities that make them sexxy and if you want to know what those qualities are, just read their stories. That is how I took the anthology.

And I agree with Gail. Every woman I have been really attracted to have been artists or actresses. Not saying I have been attracted to every female artist I have met, but all the women I have seriously considered going out with have had some artistic ability.

And by the way, I think that cover looks so much nicer without that picture of Gail. No offense to Gail...it was actually that red background that seemed to clash with the other pictures.
