Reggaeton/Reguetón is pretty big in New York/Northern New Jersey right now. It's basically Spanish-style reggae music.

Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, etc.

There are only 2 songs I like in the genre- I hate nearly everything else because it all sounds the same. Plus, the lyrics are sort of sexist, if not entirely.

Has anyone else of it? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Never heard of it?

Share, share, share.

I've heard of it, but never heard it, at least that I'm aware of.

I think the only reggaeton song I've ever heard is the Nore/Daddy Yankee/Nina Sky collabo.

I guess it's getting pretty big, considering both Jay-Z and the RZA are dipping their fingers into it.

My Puerto Rican friend absolutely loves Reggaeton, so I've heard a good bit of it. Daddy Yankee of course, Wisin y Yandel, Tego, Luny Tunez (however you spell it).

Can't say I really like it at all.

I'm loving Reggaeton.

I've only heard Daddy Yankee up to know, but I'm looking at more.

LOVE IT!

I have family in Latin America and this stuff is playing all over the place there. I was last there for three weeks and I think I heard nothing but freakin' Daddy Yankee the whole time. Frankly, I'm pretty sick of hearing it. Like most new things it soon becomes so overplayed and imitated that it's like chewing on a mouthfull of melted Kraft cheese and tin-foil. Not yummy.

It's also getting pretty big in California. One of the Bay Area's long time hard rock/heavy metal stations underwent a programming change to 'reggaeton' last year.

That's one helluva change in programming.

That's one helluva change in programming.

Clear Channel felt there were more advertising dollars available for Reggaeton... It must be the next big thing.

I like some of the songs they play but, for the most part, there are other types of latin and non-latin music I'd rather listen to.

I bloody hate it. I can't stand it and it has pushed away salsas and cumbias because of it's popularity
