Bret Hart's likely return to WWE TV has started. WWE.Com has the story up that Hart has agreed to work on the 3-disc DVD about his career and will spend the next week In Stamford Ct filming and doing segments on It.

This opens a huge door as Hart will likely have to go on WWE TV at some point to help sell the DVD. After 7 years...Bret will be coming home. Now ...how will the WWE play this ? At some point RAW & Smackdown will be crossing thru Canada and what better way to please those fans than to have Hart come out to a huge pop and tear Into Vince McMahon, Shawn Micheals ( which will get the pop of the night) and whoever else Is there.

Actually, isn't Raw going to Canada in the next month or so? Montreal, IIRC...

I think a lot of it depends on whether or not Bret is interested and/or able to get involved in a storyline or if he just wants to come in as a legend and get to push the DVD become part of the current product.

I think teasing more Michaels/Hart is a cheap pop and Hart deserves to have more to his legacy than the end of his run in '97. Really, so does Michaels. They've both done so much more.

I hope Hart gets in a ring so he can get the nostalgia pop that others like Flair, Hogan, and Jake the Snake have gotten in recent years.

I would imagine Bret being inducted into the HOF next year at 'Mania would be inevitable.

Any ideas on who should present him? Benoit's the obvious name but Bret's also good friends with Wayne Gretzky which would give it some more mainstream rub.

Hart Is also close with the former Canadian Prime Minster. But I doubt he would do this. I do think Gretzky or one of the Olympic Canadian heros will do It. I can see Kurt Angle too. Because Bret has came out and gave him huge Props. Saying Angle's the guy he's dreamed of facing In ring.

WWE missed a really great oppurtunity.

if I was in Creative and had know about this I would have used Bret Hart as a manager to Matt Hardy and had them as the outsiders to the WWE wanting revenge... with McMahon backing Edge and Lita.

side by side with Hart and Hogan's match this would eventually lead into a 2 year long gigantic company wide conflict that would end at WM 23 with Hart vs Michaels,Hogan VS Austin... the ending of which would be the last match of the two men's careers, and as it ended I'd have the entire WWE locker room turn on Bischoff and Vince and cap the end of the "attitude" era and move the older guys into the background as managers and bringing the new stars to the front.

Didnt Brett have a stroke or something like that?
Preventing him from wrestling properly?

The injury from Goldberg, then a motorcycle accident, then a stroke, IIRC.

After his continued disapproval of the WWF brand for years now, I'd lose a lot of respect for Bret if he does work once more for Vince McMahon.

This Isn't the same product that Bret Hart left In 1997. In fact the Attitude era ended In 2000 or 2001. Its not even refered anymore as WWE Attitude now. That era of the company lasted from 1997-2000.

Bret's coming Into a product that has toned down and concentrates on what he always wished. Storylines In ring and matches for the most part.

As said, Bret may not WANT to come back and be actively involved in storylines. He can't take bumps and he may simply want to be involved in the company as a legend, rather than an active performer.

Bret was a great performer back in his day, but I lost a lot of respect for him when he started acting like he was the be-all end-all of wrestling. The final straw came when he gave the "The British Bulldog" a bunch of shit for going back to work for the WWE. Loss of his brother or not, he had no business trying to tell another man what he should do to support his family. Egomaniacal ass.

I can see him doing mic work as a GM to counter Bischoff. Giving Micheals hell. That would be cool to see him putting the screws to HHH & Micheals.
