According to my comic book dealer Chuck Austen has not been writing due to a broken arm he suffered from a skiing accident so I doubt it could possibly be him. This is the real reason why his creator owned project World Watch has been canceled and why he was taken off Action Comics despite the fact the sales of the series increased during his short tenure as a DC exclusive creator. Again this information comes from my dealer so take this news with a grain of salt.

I've heard that story as well.
I have to ask - in an age of computers and voice recorders, does having a broken arm really mean that an author has to stop writing? Couldn't his wife take notes for him, if necessary?

Chuck has left comics because a bigger pay day was ahead. " Tripping the Rift " was a bigger pay day on TV. So yeahh...the arm excuse works here and god willing he comes back to the X-Men soon. Someone has to replace Milligan at this point. ( If it gets worse....god I fear for us..)

A bigger pay day? What did he get into, any idea? Just curious ...

I have no idea. But Sci Fi Channel and Wizard have claimed that Austen is the creater and writer of that series. So I'm thinking with a 2nd season ahead he put his focus there. I'd love to see him come back though.

Hey.
Some insiders SWORE that Austen wasn't the writer of that last issue of ACTION and his WORLD WATCH book, that *someone else* was using a pseudonym to fill in for him.
Any dirt there?

I believe he mentioned it was "Tripping the Rift".
Which makes sense, it looks like it was written by morons.
How does it get a second season when they barely aired the first?
