"John Romero's Daikatana." So late that it was released close to Quake 3 and was still using Quake 2 technology. Countless load screens and robot frogs, along with tortuous level design. So bad that it ran the company, Ion Storm, out of business. All this after a sea of hype that proclaimed the game would "make you John Romero's bitch." John Romero is the Rob Liefeld of video games.

In general, E.T. for the Atari 2600.

Personal opinion, Grand Theft Auto, all of them.

Why GTA? Sure, the first two were subpar, but GTA III and beyond were fun to play.

Halo 2 single player mode.
What was so bad about the Single Player game? It ended the story on a cliffhanger, sure, but the gameplay was enhanced, the graphics had a major overhaul, and it was fun to play.

There's nothing pin-down-able, but Halo 2 SP was definitely a step down from the first game. It was just less fun.

Halo 1 had me coming back a lot, replaying the SP again and again. Halo 2, I finished, and set it aside and only went back to it when I had somebody over and we played co-op.

Anyways, I nominate Big Rigs.

No... not to me.
I played the game ONE Time straight through, and hated every minute of it.
Havent touched it since over a year now.

There are a lot better games out there for something like that.
Unreal 2 comes to mind....

Unreal 2 doesn't have a good single player game. Or vehicle combat.

Oh, but it had.
It was just too short and had damned loading times.
Very good singleplayer with quite a developement of the characters.
The Crew was great :(

I'm making an interjecton here. Halo 2 was somewhat of a letdown, but still, ya' gotta love throwing a plasma grenade on a Grunt and watch him run around like an idiot.

How does Halo 2 even get thought of for this list? True, I don't go back to the Campaign all that often, but thats because I have XBox Live, and can play against humans at any time that I'm not at work.

Unreal 2, that does belong here.

I agree. The first one had the same kind of "magic" that the REAL Star Wars Trilogy had going for it. Level design was better. Weapons felt better. Simpler, more balanced dynamic (no dual wielding-I HATE dual wielding), more tactical with respect to vehicles and weaponry, plus I disliked playing as the Arbiter (sure he's a cool character but it's MASTER CHIEF'S GAME!)

Clay Fighters for SNES. Well basically all the Street Fighter clones that came out then. They were all in the school of push button, count to three, watch character perform move, repeat. Fighters should not respond like RTSs.

Enter the Matrix. Although in retrospect maybe we can consider it as a proper harbringer of the last two movies.

Fable. I really expected more out of Peter Molyneux. For all the hype about open ended levels and gameplay, it was linear, mostly boring, and had no decent ending. The combat system was kindof fun, and I liked the way your character changed physically, but that was about it.

I dont understand the Halo hate here. I loved Halo 2. The only thing that really burned me up is the single player game got the short shrift. Not everybody loves playing multiplayer. Some people enjoy a single player game too, ya know. IMHO, it was way too short, and the cliffhanger ending was a nice "F YOU" to the fans. Hate the fans who rant on about how Halo is the greatest game ever, dont hate the game itself. Its a good game.

Anywho, as for games that suck: Manhunter.

Just about everything in this game is repetitious. All the levels look the same, there is just about no variety in the enemies, and the gameplay get damn monotonous. Yeah, its fun for a little while, but soon you realize that you have an ENTIRE GAME of the same damn thing to look forward to. Bad, bad game.

I actually owned that game for a while. It was damn near unplayable.

In general, E.T. for the Atari 2600.

This gets my vote for worst all-time game. It consisted of taking 3 steps, falling into the sewer, getting out, rinse and repeat. The game took 6 weeks to make, and it SHOWS.

Anyone ever play the SNES "Addams Family" game? Goddamn, the 1st-person dungeons mazes in those were impossible. I owned the game for 6 years and never got past the 1st one.

The 1st Robocop game. Curse you, crushing walls of doom!

The Ghostbusters 2 game. Lousy platforming with broken Contra-like shooting. And the statue of liberty level sucks majorly.

The Megaman.exe game for Gamecube. The first boss is nearly unbeatable. You can't dodge him, and he kills you in 3 hits.

Half the games on the new "Sonic Gems Collection." I love Sonic CD and Vectorman. But Tail's Sky patrol and Tail's Adventures, as well as all the other GameGear-exclusive Sonic titles, are abominations.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" for NES. I tried so very, very hard to love this game, but the random placement of key items, the constant running from the Weasels, and the horrible "bounce around to charge up your punch" thing really screwed with me.

Mario Sunshine. Instead of letting you have a minimum shine requirement to get to the last boss, you have to accomplish specific missions. That damned sand bird took away 3 hours of my life I want back. And you get absolutely nothing for getting all of the shines. Oh, and there was no long jump. WTF?!

Diddy Kong Racing. Poor character designs, even worse level designs, annoying voices, and a secret character who's very hard to get and also the single worst driver in the game. Even the multiplayer sucks unless you're doing battle mode with the turbo rocket cheat.

Clayfighters 64. Even the humor sucks in this game, and the play control is as cumbersome as a greased hippo.

Xenosaga II. Basically they said "let's take everything good about the first game, like the cool moves, buyable items, and good battle system, and chuk it out the window in exhange for something much harder and boring!" I swear, that game was artificially inflated with overlong battles, and constantly having to search for monsters who may or may not drop the biosphere you need. Having to kill monsters for all items may have been okay if the battles were actually fun to do or watch. No flashy moves, random defenses that defy all logic, and battles that last 5x as long as they should.

Both Stafox games for the Gamecube, but especially the first. A broken Zelda game with the worst made-up language ever. Oss-tish taka looka, GENERAL SCALES! Or Kao-Krazoa, Kao-ga-lakka looka. And why the hell did they have to make a huge fanfare and hold every item to the heavens in joy EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME?!

"Awesome Possum Kicks Dr Machino's Butt." The most heavy-handed tree-hugging broken platformer ever. Makes me ashamed to be a Democrat. I can't believe I actually beat that sumbitch...

more later...

Here's another really crappy game that'll make you kill your system: "Simpsons Skateboarding."

Man, does this game suck. The controls are bad, the graphics suck, and it has 1 minute loading times almost every time you change modes or go to new levels. I challenge anyone to find a worse skateboarding game.

I thought that Black & White sucked big time. Very over-rated game. It seems that Peter Molenaux has a talent for overstating the premise of his games (Fable)
