With Green Lantern starring Hal, Rann/THannagar War starring Kyle and Kilowog, Recharge starring Kyle, Kilowog, Guy and others, and an upcomming ongoing series, I would love to see the Green Lantern forum, come on Bored, I miss your moderation :D If there's anything I can do to see this happen let me know

Well, I only asked Jonah to shut down the old GL Board because there was nothing else to talk about during Ben Raab's dull tenure aside from wondering when they were gonna bring Hal & The Corps back. Now that it looks like we'll have two different GL books, plus John in JLA, Alan in JSA & Jade in Outsiders, this might be a good time to bring the GL board back.
If Jonah, Matt and the other mods think its something CBR could use, that is.
I dunno how keen I'd be on moderating solo again, but if there's another mod who wants to do it with me and put up with my occasional bouts of self-righteous nonsense, I'd be willing to partner up with somebody and put my mod hat back on.

How about Green Lantern/Flash Board?
If DC ever reboots some of their space books it would be nice to have Green Lantern/DCU Space forum
I would really love to have a GL board back. And now with Hal and Kyle coexisting and contributing to the GL Corps each in their own, important way, there may actually not be any more flame wars. :)

We tried that before but the Green Lantern stuff just ended up overwhelming the Flash stuff.

I think those days are long since over. And since SuperManny's offered to co-mod the GL Board with me, you'd have one mod whose favorite GL is Hal and another whose favorite GL is Kyle. A nice balance of Old School and New School.
All we're waiting for now is the go ahead from CBR's grand-poobahs to try it out and see if there's enough interest to keep it around.

Bored's going to moderate? Shouldn't they choose someone who's not so adamant about their pro-Hal/anti-Kyle standpoint?
You editorialized on the GL FAQ, man. That's for newbies.
EDIT: Oh, yeah. A second mod to balance things out. OK, that would be cool. :)

Oh stop it. For the upteenth time, I'm not, nor have I ever been, anti-Kyle. The only thing I've ever been has been anti-Kyle as the only GL, which is no longer an issue now that all Green Lanterns are getting the spotlight. Although I often thought Marz & Winnick's Kyle Rayner stories weren't always as good as they could have been, I absolutely loved Morrison's Kyle Rayner in JLA and have been thoroughly enjoying Johns & Gibbon's Kyle Rayner thus far. How on Earth that makes me anti-Kyle, I dunno.
But, as I originally said, I absolutely don't want to be the only mod and I specifically wanted SuperManny to be my co-mod because I know how much a Kyle Rayner fan he is...and 'cause SuperManny is pretty cool to boot.
So, put down your pitchfork pennywisdom. Your "Bored is out to get us Kyle fans!" nonsense ain't gonna wash this time....just like it didn't the last time you tried it. Besides, we don't even know if Jonah wants to bring back the GL Board, so you why don't you wait until its actually happened before you start complaining about it. Ok?

I would definitely support a GL forum. Here's to hoping we see that sucker, soon! :D
A GL/DCU space forum would probably be popular.

Yes, explanding it to the GLCorps & Cosmic DCU would be a good idea.
There will probably be more DCU space discussion nowadays with Rann/Thanagar War, Adam Strange and the more that will probably be coming out soon. I'm glad DC isn't forgetting about their final frontier.

Why not have a combined GL\LOSH board?

I think it is also a good idea, judging from the support I've been seeing here and the fact that "Green Lantern" has been in the news considerably. I'm more than happy to co-mod considering my newfound love (okay, decade old) for Green Lantern. Pairing up with an "old school" and cool Green Lantern fan such as Bored would help fan any possible flame wars that erupt on the new focus that the title has took on lately. I feel I could relate to the Kyle fans out there who grew up with him since 1994 and are experiencing the Hal Jordan coup d'etat, which will wind up better for everyone overall.
Cross your ring fingers! :D

Why not have a combined GL\LOSH board?
I suppose, but there's really no connection between the two concepts, unlike, say the Corps and the cosmic aspects of the modern day DCU. The Legion is pretty self-contained in its own time and setting. And I don't know if there'd be enough LSH chat to justify it since there's only one LSH series and the moment and no spinoffs or LSH characters appearing in any other DCU comics.

Keep it coming. The more support we have, the better.
I'm already rewriting and revising a GLCorps FAQ in anticipation.

Couldn't you get more responses if you moved this into the DCU forum rather than keeping it in the JLA forum?
A new GL forums is a good idea now. Personally, I'd wait until we're closer to GL Corps #1 publication date, but there's probably plenty to talk about now just with speculation.

I've never been one for the "if you build it, they will come" style of board creation, but if they think there's a need for it . . .
Personally, I'd love to see a Green Lantern forum brought back to CBR (heck, I was the one responsible for the first GL Forum being made here!) and I'd even throw my name in to Mod it if necessary.
However, I also don't believe in the 'build it and they will come' model - before I set up any new boards, I need to see that the traffic is there to justify its existence - so go to the DCU Board and talk about Green Lantern until you're blue in the face!

On a somewhat related tangent, maybe we'll need an INFINITE CRISIS Forum for at least a year. Right now, we've got it all under one thread at the DC Comics Forum, but there are plenty of sub-issues (and I'm sure there'll be more) that are buried in there (there's got to be a dozen criss-crossing topics in that thread). Perhaps we should consider an INFI-CRISIS Forum when the series actually hits the shelves.

That's not that bad an idea, actually. Hmm..

Bored (and his fellow volunteers), you're a better man than me. You couldn't PAY me to mod a board having anything to do with the GLs. Too much work keeping down the flames.

Too much work keeping down the flames.
That was the 90s, 'Dox. After INFINITE CRISIS, the GL franchise will probably be one of the few areas of DCU discussion that will be comparatively flame-free.

Don't be so sure. There are still people pissed off about the way things are now. even though all the GLs are being represented. I actually talked with a John Stewart fan absolutely convinced that John was getting screwed because he was only appearing on the cartoon and three different comics (more than any other GL).
Bitching and moaning is in GL fans' blood, it seems.
The matter of a Green Lantern forum has been discussed by the Moderators and it has been decided it is an action that we shall hold off on for the current time. However, upon the release of the ongoing series (and any other GL related series) and the level of discussion they generate, this could quite easily change.
The decision was made to create an Infinite Crisis board to help further discussion on this multi-title event. So far, it seems to have been a wise decision since talk about IC seems to be going along quite steadily.

I can't remember how long its been since the GL forum was here. I do remember that is was said if GL would pick up and have a reason for needing a forum it would be back. Well with Hal's return,Guy a lantern again, and now the GL Corps Recharge title starting soon I think now more than ever it would be nice to have a GL forum.

No Green Lantern comic, book,tv episode,or show, or movie is coplete without Katma Tui.DC comics should follow Warner Brothers' example and bring her back, albiet in their own way,and place her in the role of an Alleykat,Hellkat,or Kat-woman,someone who save the universe from a Katastrophe. If they feel she would have to be 'edgier'to be reincarnated in a continuity where Catwoman and Birds of Prey as well as multiple Batman titles are popular, then they should by any means necessary do so.

Bored, if something happens and you need a co-mod, I'd be more than happy to help out. I'd LOVE to see the GL board back here again! And it looks like there will be enough going on and enough discussions to warrant it. I truly do hope that's the case!
