I just started reading this title about 3 months ago (when the current arc began). I've picked up on most of what is going on, but will someone please tell me what the rift between Oracle and Huntress is? Also, does anyone know exactly what virus Oracle has?
Thanks in advance.

Oracle picked up the virus from encounter with Brainiac. Oracle and Huntress... well, they never really got along. After proving herself in Oracle's eyes, Oracle set her up as an agent of hers. On the first real outing as a team, though, Huntress got the feeling -- and was correct, to a greater or lesser degree -- in that Oracle was manipulating her. So now Huntress is very angry at Oracle for manipulating her and is determined not to be one of Oracle's agents because of it.

You said you had JUST gotten into the title... I TOTALLY recommend getting back to issue #56 when Gail Simone took over.
And if you have the money grab the entire run... it's been great from the start!

I suggest picking up Birds of Prey: Of Like Minds, which collects the first story arc of Gail Simone's run, followed by Birds of Prey: Sensei and Student.
To elaborate about Oracle and Huntress, Oracle did not like Huntress in the past not only because of Huntress's violent methods but because Huntress had a one-night stand with Dick Grayson and also briefly became the new Batgirl (without Oracle's permission) for a short period of time.

thanks for the replies, i really like this series (even though, i thought i wouldn't before i read it, but tried it anyway after reading on this message board how many people loved it) and will look for the TPBs you reccommended. I'd love to purchase the whole series in monthly form, but $$$$ precludes me from doing so.

Nah... just hit ebay!
I got 12 issues for $14.00 including shipping (that's only $1.17 per issue) and picked up another lot of 15 for $11.99 shipping included (that's only $0.80 per issue!)
I ended up with 27 issues for ONLY $25.99 (shipping included!)... that's cheaper than ANY trade. That's a whopping value of ONLY $0.96 per issue!
Most trades are 6 issues for between $15.00 and $20.00. Even going with the $15 you are paying $2.50 per issue in the trade.
