Personally I think Ruthless Reviews.com captures the effect even better in their review of American Commando (http://ruthlessreviews.com/80saction/commando.php) using what Arnold said before that...

Borderline really. American Commando fits under that rubric of 80s action flicks that carry an intense homo-erotic subtext in its attempts to lionize the maniless of the ideal American Soldier. On the one hand Predator is good, manly fun of blowing up evil commies. On the other it's secretly a gay utopian fantasy, possibly as much as, if not moreso, than Masters of Universe.
